Another shipping question

Recommended Posts

I have read about 15 pages looking for an answer to my problem but have not found it yet. Shipping seems to be hard to configure.

Anyway this is what I want to do,all my products are the same size and weight and I only deliver to one country with 7 zones.

Now say if customer buys an item and the shipping is set to $ 17.00 for that item,if they add another item and I only want to charge an extra $4.00 for shipping then how do I do this.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Tom

Hi.
Is this not done from your Back Office/Shipping/Weight Ranges?
ie say your products each weigh 200g. your first weight range would be from 0.00kg to 0.200kg, the second from 0.201 to 0.400 etc etc
then in Back Office/Shipping you add your prices for those weight ranges in the 'fees' section, ie 0.00 - 0.200 would be $17, and 0.201-0.400 would be $23

Thanks for your reply
I still can not get it to work at checkout,I have deleted everything I had and started again.

This is what I have now but at check out it charges the highest shipping price.

I have one carrier for all 7 states of Australia, I have set one zone and called it Australia Wide and all states use this.

In catalog I set weight at 1.00kg for every item I have.

In weight ranges I have 0.00 to 1.00 and 1.1 to 2.00kg with the same carrier.

In price ranges I have 0.00 to 14.80 and 14.81 to 18.00 with the same carrier.

But at check out its $ 18.00 no matter how many items are pruchased

What am I doing wrong??
Tom

Under 'shipping', have you got 'Billing:: 'according to total weight' selected?
and a bit further down the page from that, under 'fees' is where you set the prices ranges. Not on the 'price range' screen.

Yes thats what I meant
And it looks fine.
Reading over what you've said, and seeing that, I cannot think of a reason for it, Im afraid.
I've just created a test carrier on my own site, using your exact settings, and it worked fine - I got the lower price for under 1kg, and the higher price for over 1kg.
Maybe check that your weights for your products are definitely only 1kg
Other than that it makes no sense. But then Im no expert......
