Moving Home text editor and featured products up

Hello all,

I have tried to find a solution to my little problem here but I can't seem to find anything useful.

I'm trying to get the home text editor and featured products moved up a bit.

Right now there is a pretty good gap and it looks like this.

Is there anyway I can get it to look like the picture attached?

If thats how you want your site to look, then I would asign the picture logo to the advertising module and move the module positionposition to the top of the left column.

Then play around with the global.css to reduce the size of the top header area, edit the header.tpl, perhaps comment out theline of code with the logo image in it.

That would get you pretty close to what you want

I'm actually getting very close now thanks to your help. The only thing is I can't move the user info block to the right column. Do you know how to get the user info block to appear above the cart? I've tried transplanting it.

I just figured it out. I added the rightcolumn hook to the blockuserinfo.php and it seems to work. I can't get it to go on top of the cart correctly but it works just as well down below I think.
