Order products by category in module lofnewproducts

Hi, i want to show the products in the caterogy that i selected in the backoffice module config, but i dont know where modify the code, i think it is related to the line of lofnewproduct:

$listNews = $object->getListFeatured( $params );

Because in the tpl file called like this:

{foreach from=$listNews item=item}

I want to modify this module, because the carousel is very fluid and adaptable to my webpage.

Any idea ??
