[Free Module] Personalized product recommendations ("Users also viewed/ bought...")

Hello,

 

I have just released the first version of my integration module for RecommenderGhost, a free and hosted solution for personalized recommendations: http://www.recommend...odule-available

 

You can download it directly from our site (http://www.recommend...st.com/features) while we are working on integrating it into the add-on shop from Prestashop.

 

With recommendations you can offer "Users also viewed / bought" etc.

 

Setup is as easy as using the Google Analytics module: Install the module, enter your credentials (you can get them for free at www.recommenderghost.com) and let the system collect some data. After 24hrs you get your first recommendations.

I checked the code by curiosity and it's very nice.

 

One small issue I notice that may appear for shops that run over https

You include http://api.recommenderghost.com/api-js/ghost.js hardcoded for http. https does not work because the ssl is not configured on recommenderghost api subdomain.

 

Because of this for shops that run over https the module won't work

Hi,

 

the difference is the logic behind. Amazon, Netflix and any bigger e-commerce shop are all using high-end personalized recommendation engines. These systems are statistical approaches to find patterns in the behaviour of your users on your site.

 

The difference between "recently viewed" and recommendation engines becomes obvious when talking about shops that cover more than 200 products. RecommenderGhost would only show the relevant products not just the products recently viewed which can make a big impact on click-through rate.

 

RecommenderGhost has its roots in Drupal Commerce / Ubercart shopping solutions dealing with millions on page views. We have just recently launched our module for Prestashop. If you require more features let me know via http://support.recommenderghost.com

I have updated the module and it should now work with SSL. Pls check v1.1 available here: http://www.recommenderghost.com/features

 

This module also got a few improvements so that you can now define the number of recommendations to show and which type of recommendations you want to display:

• Other users also viewed
  
• Other users also bought
  
• Recommendations
  
• Related items

Hi i have implemented your product in my prestashop site.But i am not getting any recommendations.I can able to view only tracking analysis in the recommender ghost account.

 

I am using prestashop version 1.5.4.1.did this prestashop extension will support for my version?

 

Whether i need to do the given tracking code script anywhere else inside the page to get generated recommendations in my front end?
