Trouble With Emails (Auto Response For Gmail And Yahoo Clients)

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

So everything in Prestashop works fine, except for this rather confusing glitch with the emails. The auto responses sent from the shop when a new account is created, or when a message is sent in via the contact form doesnt seem to work for gmail and hotmail clients. Also, the emails I send from the back office dont get to gmail, or hotmail clents.

It works well for yahoo though, seamlessly. I have looked online, and found possible solutions, none of which worked for me. My core is front end design (graphics), so I'm not very proficient with back end terms. I am however willing to try.

Will really appreciate the help, my client is getting upset.

Thanks,

Simi.

Let me understand you correctly. emails that are sent to yahoo accounts are fine, but not to hotmail or gmail? What about other email accounts that are not hotmail or gmail?

Have they looked in the spam folders to make sure that the e-mails are not being marked as spam?

Nah, google and hotmail are the main accounts that the client has complained about. There's no spam in their emails. I get this message in my webmail though....

The answer is that is it nothing to do with Prestashop, the IP address of the e-mail server is on a blacklist of IP addresses because they have at some time been responsible for sending spam.

The actual answer is in the e-mail:

SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> SIZE=36048:

host mx3.hotmail.com [65.55.37.104]: 550 SC-001 (COL0-MC3-F24) Unfortunately, messages from 129.121.176.250 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com...ing.aspx#errors.

If you follow the link, the error 550 SC-001 says

Mail rejected by Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for help.

You need to contact the ISP for your e-mail server.
