Removing Special, New Products And Top Sellers Link At Information In Footer

I know this is a very common thread but I have followed steps on every single thread that I found and still can't fix this issue. I want to remove the specials, new products and top sellers links at the information block in footer. So, I removed the code for these links in the blockcms.tpl file and then went to force compilation and remove cache but what happen is that now I got only these links not translated into spanish an still there. What am I missing?

 

I did the same for the Contact section in footer trying to remove the email link and the same happened, the link is still there. I have attached pictures of the code and the actual footer. Help!
