Three Different Database Prefix In My Db

I have 3 different database prefix in my database, in addition to PS_ I have PS2_ and something else. I think these are from when I was originally setting up the original version of my shop a few years ago. My shop is using PS_ , so I assume it's safe to remove all the others? I'm pretty sure that's the case, but wanted to double check?

 

I'm wondering if all this duplication 3 times over will slow the database down significantly. If it's likely to make only a minor or no difference, I may just leave it...

You don't have another shop running, making use of the same database (but with the other prefixes)? Just checking...

Speed might depend some on amount, but don't think it will reduce any speed dramatically.

 

To make sure, always backup (and check the backup!) before modifications like this :-)

Thanks for your advice (and sorry for the delay in replying)!

 

I have only one store running. I think I'll take your advice and make the changes to a copy and see what happens!
