prestashop 1.5.3.1 shows error-Name (ID: ID) cannot be saved when importing product csv

hi,

i have facing some crazy problems when uploading product csv file in localhost , it gives following errors

• Name (ID: ID) cannot be saved
  
• Property Product->on_sale is not valid
  

when ignoring On sale column it gives below error

• Name (ID: ID) cannot be saved
  
• Property Product->available_for_order is not valid
  

when ignoring Available for order (0 = No, 1 = Yes) column , error become

• Name (ID: ID) cannot be saved
  
• Property Product->condition has bad value (allowed values are: new, used, refurbished)
  

but i was wondering when i upload that csv file to online it shows :

 

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache Server at www.........net Port 80

the amazing thing is every thing works fine besides all products image shows the 1st image of the provided image link and 2/3 products shows 3 images where all image links are working , im getting stuck with those problem , if any one facing same kind of problem or had solution or solve on this issue , please help , nb, im adding the product csv file too in zip file

I'm sorry I cannot help, because I have the same problems :-(

 

Actually mine is even worse, it is saying "date_add" is incorrect. There is no date_add!

Hi,

if your csv file has columns name then you should skip the first line from your csv file when you importe it.

Yes... same sorts of problems here... I do set it to skip 1 line but still gives the error for ID (like it still reads the header record)

 

I am going to take the header line out of the CSV next import and see what happens.

 

But even with that error it still seems to do the import properly.

 

Also, the date thing is tricky... i put in dates where necessary. Microsoft Excel likes to override the date format (I really do hate Microsoft Products) so be advised to format date fields as text and then it will retain the yyyy-mm-dd format.

 

Did I mention that i hate Microsoft and Bill Gates? If excel can recognize yyyy-mm-dd as a date format, why is there no way to output the date in that format?

 

I just hate their products.

 

Anyway... I am having good luck with imports now and am cruising to the finish line. Forget the export file ... it sucks... look on the Prestashop Admin Import page and see all the fields to the right (set up a file with all these fields and your imports will work better. Again, put in dates where necessary.

 

Also, watch out for max string length on description field and meta description etc.

 

How hard would it be for Prestashop crew to put some text beside these fields with the max string length?

 

I really do believe much stress can be alleviated if Presta-people display and convey to us the field format, length, and the default value... it just makes sense.

 

But again, still a great product, great people... much obliged!

Thank you for prompting me to think around this issue. I was using the example spreadsheet and wondering like everyone else why I was getting errors. I copied the fields list on the right hand side and realised that there are more fields there than in the example csv product file.

 

I then used those on the right hand side to create a new template to upload some products.

Im having the same problem ..  i have attemot all  fromats and i get erros any solotion to  this problem ?

7 errors

1. Pink Wine (ID: 1) cannot be saved
2. Property Product->on_sale is not valid
3. Saffron (ID: 2) cannot be saved
4. Ide Aganju (ID: 3) cannot be saved
5. Azafran (ID: 4) cannot be saved
6. Ide Aganju (ID: 5) cannot be saved
7. Vino Rosado (ID: 6) cannot be saved

It is difficult but not impossible.

 

1. Go to your admin,..  Advanced Parameters > CSV

 

2. Change "What kind of file would you like to import?" to the type you want.

 

3. Note the "Available Fields" names on the right hand column -- you will need all of these, even if leaving blank

 

4. make a spreadsheet with these field names in the first row  (I use Excel)

 

5.  Enter your data for each of your records ( can use MYSQL or export a data file to see examples of the data)

 

6.  Save your spreadsheet!

 

7. Change your delimiter to a semi-colon from a comma (whether in your operating system, in your spreadsheet programme, or when saving as a csv)

 

8.  save as a CSV

 

9.  Now for me, I need to re-open the csv with notepad and then save it again as a UTF-8 

 

9.1  I also inspect my csv to ensure only 1 header row, no trailing rows with semi-colons

 

10.  Go to the import screen and upload your file 

 

11.  make sure you have the right file now, as prestashop (strangely) does not always show the most recently uploaded csv

 

12  field separator is the semi-colon ... multi value is a comma  (everything else is blank)

 

13.  Click next step... click skip 1 line (for the header)

 

14.  I always seem to get errors and warning messages, but then i check my site and my data has been imported.

 

Hope it works!

 

ps. if you have images as well, they need to be uploaded to your server and the path must be specified in your upload file (path and filename are case sensitive)

I faced same internal server error to upload the data of product combination. I also attached the screen shots of the error screen and Ps Back Office CSV import tool.

 

When i import the csv file through Advanced Parameter -->CSV import tool they give a lot of time to working but they don't update the product info and they give me internal server error page.

 

Please help to solve this issue because urgent response.

I have been very frustrated with the csv import problem since 1.5 and have just got it to work in 1.6.0.9.

I think a lot of people are frustrated by the fact that not even the downloaded template from prestashop works from beginning. I would have liked to share the template .csv i made, but are not allowed by presta forum :/  But i can give a few hints:

 

- Edit in excel! (+save in excel is fine) - Use ; and , as in the default import setting.

- No capital LETTERS!!

- Always force ID numbers! If you already have products in the shop, edit the IDs in the .csv file so no 2 IDs are the same.

- Images are complicated if creating a new shop, if creating an old, copy the images from the img folder in old shop to img folder in new shop, and set the image url accordingly. With the whole adress!

- Some things like friendly url are auto generated from the name.

- Some columns needs to be 0< since blank is not a valid value (weight, height etc.)

- Leave all dates blank or edit them before import, prestas template dates are 2013 and are not valid!

- Create valid categories before import

When did you guys change this? In previous ver of PS we did not need every heading basically a few required and what else you needed and it worked flawlessly. I dont see why we would want to mess with a item that worked so well just to make it complicated and combersome.

We have uploaded hundreds of thousands of items by prestashop csv import but have had numerous problems in the process.  The worst error is "cannot be saved" with no explanation?  Have spent hours trying to fix when this error occurs attempting to  adjust the name and id for it to take with no success.

We have the the same error now on 1.6.1.4.

I can't find any explanation or solution abut it.

Any update on this? I even tried imporing the very same DEMO csv, and failed with this error...
