How do I edit an employee? (Password etc)

I found the image below in a google search for 'change employee password', however instead of the 'edit' icon like is shown here my employees have -- listed under the 'Actions' column.

 

Is there somewhere I need to turn on the ability to edit employees?

Have you tried to click on the pencil icon? If not click on that icon then there you will be able to edit the information you're asking about.

That's the problem, instead of the pencil (which is appearing everywhere else on the site ok) I am getting -- (nothing to click on)

Here is what mine looks like:

I have added two more employees now, and none of them are showing up on the Employees page. The screen still looks exactly like the one I submitted above where the first employee I added is showing along the edit box line, but not below the line in the yellow part like the first screenshot in this thread.

 

The employees seem to be on the system because if I try to add them again I get an error message that they already exist.

I hope this makes it clearer... I actually got confused reading my own post, hate to think what others think.

OK... please ignore. I deleted my cache, rebooted my PC and now all is well.

 

Very odd error, but now at least I know what to try next time something like this happens.
