Testing site - can't place an order!

Hi all,

 

 

I have been testing my site with various bits and pieces I've been experimenting with which will eventually sum to integrating part of the shop system and SQL database with an application. However, I'm having a problem with something far simpler...

 

To populate the database, I registered a test customer and went to purchase a test product. The product appears to have been set up perfectly fine. It is a free download product which has just been set to download a small image as a place holder. However, when I login, add the product to my cart go to checkout and click the button to confirm my order, it just sits there with the "processing" ring spinning around. Nothing happens - if I close the page and reload, the product is still there in my cart, and the SQL database is totally unaltered in terms of orders.

 

Any idea how I can remedy this problem?
