Applying 2 Tier Discount

I want to apply a two tier discount system

ie

All new customers receive Tier1 discount

Once they have spent £500 they automatically go onto Tier2 discount

 

Considerations

I would like to show both original price and discounted price + possibly display the percentage of discount and the value that the customer has saved

 

Each item also has a different percentage of discount

 

Can anybody help out on how to configure something like this?

OK I have found out how to add Specific prices/percentage discount and add it to the customer group but how do I upload this via a csv file?

 

Also how can I get My Customers to auto upgrade the the next customer group once they have spent £500?

OK sussed the csv upload by creating a temp table and then linking it to set the values.

 

So final part of my question is still to solved?

 

How do I automatically add a customer to another group once the have spent a certain amount?

i know this is an old topic, and i am not proffessional programmer, but you will need to do this by programming.

 

Using the overides you will be able to have a bit of code check a user against minmum spend and then change its group. i might be doing something like this in the near future. I have not decided yet
