Change the size of the original home page slider

Hi there,

 

Welcome all and compliments for the great tools/modules that are available for Prestashop.

I am a newbie when it comes to Prestashop and i would like to use this post to ask a question about the homepage slider.

 

When i try to change the size of the slider, only the height seems to change. The width is blocked due to the blocks (store, contact, sales) on the right. However when i remove all these blocks, the problem still awaits. Is there another solution to change the width considering i don't want to use the right panel on the front page?
