[Solved] UTF-8 Bom problem. Wrong display in IE.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Since a few weeks I have an error on my website. It gives a blank line on the top of my page in Chrome and Firefox, and messes up the website in IE.

This is what the W3-validator says about it.

Line 1, Column 1: character "" not allowed in prolog

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml…

According to Google, it seems to be a problem with UTF-8 and BOM.

After the error I've uploaded a fresh version of Prestashop 1.5.2. Later I added all my modified files, but even before doing this the error was still there.

I've uploaded a test.html and test.php file, which work both well without the error.

On the day that it happened, I've uploaded a .csv-file, edited my e-mail-translations via the Back-Office, and edited a few translations.

Is it possible that it is a problem in the database?
