Property Category->meta_description is not valid <SOLVED>

Hello team,

I am trying to upload a csv file to shop, have there 7 categories. I made sure I have the meta description under 250 charecters, but I still get this error on import:

• CAT1 (ID: 11) cannot be saved
  
• Property Category->meta_description is not valid
  
• CAT2 (ID: 12) cannot be saved
  
• Property Category->meta_description is not valid
  
• CAT3 (ID: 13) cannot be saved
  
• CAT4 (ID: 14) cannot be saved
  
• Property Category->meta_description is not valid
  
• CAT5 (ID: 15) cannot be saved
  
• Property Category->meta_description is not valid
  
• CAT16 (ID: 16) cannot be saved
  

Can anyone help?

Well, I have removed all the meta description all together it worked. kinda. It truncated one category's description. I reviewed all my description and meta description and found that one category had "you're" in it. Fixed it to "you are" and it seemed to kinda work, as it showed correctly in the import preview; but when I imported it, it still failed.

 

I realized that If i keep the meta-description field empty, it will adopt the Description, even if its over 250 characters.

 

So, I guess my issues is solved because my Meta-Description was the same as the category's Description.

I'm having this problem on certain products.

If I try to change anything for a certain product (there's about 5 of them) I get the following warning:

 

Property Product->meta_description is not valid

 

This only happens on 5 products out of more than 500, and I cannot find any reason for it at all.

 

I've tried removing everything from a product page, including description, tags, features, images, titles, SEO content... no matter what I do these pages will not allow me to make any change to them. I can't even assign them to new categories.

 

I've been trying to find a solution for this for weeks now and I can't find any reason for this, no explanation for it, and no solution.

 

I'm hoping someone out there can assist in this. I don't want to delete these products and start them again because they are all heavily linked.

Here is change log for 1.6.1.3 and I know there were specific 'meta' fixes.  I'd look through this and see if you can find fix (assuming you are not on 1.6.1.3)
