I have an issue with firefox. Chrome & IE are ok.

Slider is block on right side.

Vekia post a solution in 2013 but I don't understand where to put the code :

go to global.css file and use this code:

#slider {
clear:both!important;
}

remember to recompile theme due to the fact that you use CCC for css files.

If someone can help. Many thanks.

Hello,
Please, I'm looking for help. I installed a theme with minic slider, but I have a problem.

The address is: http://ns305021.ip-94-23-216.eu/passionjardin-abris.be/

As you can see, the text of the caption is not displayed and the caption links are still the links that I came to the last slide.

I left the slide manually so that you have easy to look at the code.

Please I really need help because I'm left more than that as a problem to put the site online.

Thank you in advance.

This is a free slider module for Prestashop v1.5+. Its really awesome and easy to use for everyone. In the configuration page everything is well explained so easy usage is guaranteed.

If you have a cool idea or just want to send us a comment/feedback please don't hesitate to use the built in feedback feature, or use the comments below, or you can contribute on github.

We would like to build up a "kick-ass module arsenal" for Prestashop 1.5+, with awesome eye-catchy modules. If you wish to receive updates about these modules you can subscribe to our newsletter.

IMPORTANT!

By default the module hooks itself into the header of pages and top of pages positions. The header of pages positions displays the necessary files for the functionality so DO NOT REMOVE FROM HERE.

If you wish to move the slider into the center column (home page content) then delete from the top of pages hook and transplant into the home page content.

Transplanting the module is very easy, you can find more info here.

This is a new topic for the minic slider module, because there will be no future development for the old versions. And due to the many comments.

If you want to use in the TOP POSITION than the module has to be the last in that position, by default will be the last, just remember if you install a new module don't forget to change the position. Also by default the module will be visible on all of the pages (if TOP position is used), you can fix this with the option (Home only) or with the exceptions on the module transplant page.

Features:

  • 16 unique transition effects
  • Simple clean & valid markup
  • Title & Caption text (can be HTML)
  • Linkable images
  • Easy configuration via backend
  • Publish, Delete, Edit each slide separately
  • Multi language support
  • Responsive
  • 4 module position (top, content, left and right sidebar)
  • Now you can send Bugs and Feedback in the module (for easier development and support)
Browser Support
  • Internet Explorer v7+
  • Firefox v3+
  • Google Chrome v4+
  • Safari v4+
  • Opera v10+
Demo

For now I can provide frontend demo only on the Nivo slider home page or here.

Installation

As usual! Upload the downloaded .zip via Prestashop backend or the unzipped content to your modules directory. Than go to the Advertising & Marketing tab on the modules configuration page and install it.

Update Instructions

The best if you uninstall the old module and delete all of its content, then upload the new one.

Hi,

Firstly thanks for the great module.

I am having a slight issue with the slider though. When I put the slider live the controls are appearing off the slider and further down the page. I tried to turn them off in the control panel as a quick fix but it will not allow me to do so it gives me a notice saying: unable to turn off controls I believe this is a database error.

Any suggestions on fixing or turning off the controls?

Hi,

You can hide via CSS. The error message appears when the default Prestashop saving method fails, its not a custom code. Try to reinstall the slider.

Btw what is your PS version?

They're located in views > js > plugins > nivo-slider. Don't forget to edit nivo-slider.css if you change their size.

Hi,

We have a problem with this module, the bug turns out,  when you add new slides, these last do not appear in the list of slides, and can't be edited or deleted, forcing us to reinstall each module when we want to change the images.

has anyone had the same problem or know why it may be?

Thanks.

Well in fact I found how to do this...

I edited minicslider.php and I wrote a fixed width and height where thumbnails are created...

			// Create thumbnail for slider
			$imgSize = getimagesize($path.$name);
			if($imgSize[0] >= $imgSize[1]){
				// Resize based on width
				$imgWidth = 150;
				$imgHeight = 60;
			}else{
				// Resize based on height
				$imgHeight = 60;
				$imgWidth = 150;
			}

If I were to change the CSS, how would I proceed to do so without hacking core? I'm a newbie at Prestashop and I'm unsure how I'm supposed to get the CSS files into my theme folder. Thanks :)

Hi,

like tomcita, I have the same problem with presta 1.5.6.2 but it's ok on presta 1.5.6.1

Hi, I had the same problem (in PS 1.5.6.2) and got rid of it by removing all newline breaks from the <img> tag in /views/templates/front/front.tpl template (line 12). I also moved spaces between img parameters into {if} conditions and added an extra space before the closing mark "/>":

<img src="{$minicSlider.path.images}{$image.image}" class="slider_image"{if $image.alt} alt="{$image.alt}"{/if}{if $image.title != '' or $image.caption != ''} title="#htmlcaption_{$image.id_slide}"{/if}{if $minicSlider.options.thumbnail == 1} data-thumb="{$minicSlider.path.thumbs}{$image.image}"{/if} />

Hi,

Thanks for a great slider :-)

However, I do have a problem.

Version 4.1.11

I have made 4 slides, but even if I put in different URL for each slide, mimic slider alwas ends up only using the URL of the last slide.

In other words, even if all slides have different target url's, on the front side each slide directs only to the url of the last slide.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks.

me too!

Hi Sandy,

in the following foreach-loop, you have to replace $image.url with $caption.url (look in the href attribute).

{foreach from=$slides item=caption name=singlecaption}
    {if $caption.title != '' or $caption.caption != ''}
        <div id="htmlcaption_{$caption.id_slide}" class="nivo-html-caption">
            <h2>{$caption.title}</h2>
            <a class="minic_caption minic_caption-{$smarty.foreach.singlecaption.iteration}" href="{$image.url}">{$caption.caption}</a>
        </div>
    {/if}
{/foreach}

Hi,

My shop is built under Prestashop 1.5.6.2.

Is it possible to use the module to automatically display the new products, as a carousel or slider, on the home page ?

Thank you in advance,

Patrick

Hi

Recently installed the minic slider promo. I have previously bought the pro version but well couldnt find the download file.

Anyway Im trying to make so that the image is to the left and 4 products to the right. Like on www.hamburgerpress.se  but my image always come on top, not to the left. How do I change this on www.svenskautekok.se?

All help is greatly appriciated, and thank you for a great module.

Hello,

Is their any way to have the slider show the image dimentions in the html tag?   Just the basic width= & height= that is usually in img src tags.

Thanks for your time.

Maybe something like this added to front.tpl around line 14-15 to start?

          {if $image.height}height="{$image.height}"{/if}
          {if $image.width}width="{$image.width}"{/if}

Anyone got the needed controller changes to make that tpl change work?

Nice module, nice job ! But I've a little problem : now, I need to add the english at my website (first, it was only in French). So, I activated multilangue into the module. I understood I must add all the image a second time for this new language. But curiously, if I try to add one in the english language, it get it in the french list. And then, I've no image in the frontend.
On the test server, I got only one image in the english list, the followers going in the french list.
I hope you understand my bad english. Can you help me please ?

Thanks a lot !

It does not look good on mobile or when I make the window smaller. How can I fix this?

Hi,

I am working with the version 4.0 of minic slider. My slider was in the left part of the page with some products at the right of it, after I update it the slider came to the middle and i can not put them the way it was. How can i turn it the way it was? I am working with the theme CENATA 1.6.

I can not find a way to attach a photo, but if you look for the theme thats the way it should looks.

Thanks,

It appears this module is not compatible with PHP 7 as after upgrading my whole shop wouldn't load and my errorlogs shows:

PHP Fatal error:  'continue' not in the 'loop' or 'switch' context in /public_html/modules/minicslider/minicslider.php on line 269

Googling it showed another minic slider user had the same error with PHP 7:

Anyone know a fix or workaround to make it work with PHP 7?

Having the same problem, is the developer looking to upgrade this module to work on PHP 7?

Anyone else found a solution?

Unfortunately, it is not compatible with v1.6 or higher. You will have a lot of trouble getting your shop to operate properly once you upload the module. Don't use it on these versions!

Also, there's no support. The author has left the community back in 2016...
