(solved) can't import or install themes

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've installed a new prestashop store version 1.4.7.3.

I can't import or manually install any themes. When i import i get bad configuration file, and sometimes error during zip extraction. When i install them manually i can't see them in backoffice.

Please i've tried a lot of things but nothing works...

When i installed the shop i got a message that it's not allowed to open external URLS, but i could continue the installation.. Can this be the problem?

Greetings

hi

have you check all the permissions ?

chmod 777 (marked in bold) :

files and folders

/config

/tools/smarty/compile

/tools/smarty/cache

/tools/smarty_v2/compile

/tools/smarty_v2/cache

/sitemap.xml

/log

/upload

/download

chmod 777 folders and subfolders/

/img - Subfolders

/mails - Subfolders-subfolders

/modules - Subfolders-subfolders <-

this one is important when you have problems with autoinstaller

/themes/prestashop/lang

/themes/prestashop/cache

/translations

also when you update an theme manual did you unzip this one ?or did you upload it into your theme folder ?

nopes , the message allow_url_fopen is not a problem

Hi, thank your for your reply.

I tried this but it did not work. I had a few issues.

/tools/smarty/compile (i did not have the compile folder)

/tools/smarty/cache (i did not have the cashe folder)

/tools/smarty_v2/compile (i did not have smarty_v2)

/tools/smarty_v2/cache (i did not have smarty_v2)

with /mails - Subfolders-subfolders, what did you mean when you wrote subfolders-subfolders?

I've tried different things when i uploaded the theme, i tried to add it unzipped, zipped and to unzip it when it was on the FTP. I also tried to change folder and ziped it again before i uploaded it and unzipped it.

hi

in mails you got subfolders , and in these you got some folders again ,,

don't understand why you don't have these folders

i know version 1.5 but 1.4.7 .. so far i know they are in this version

i need to check this one

can you tell which theme you try to install ?

hi i just checked this version

but as i thought these folders are indeed there ,,

so probably is this the problem

/tools/smarty/compile (i did not have the compile folder) ->klik on tools -klik on smarty - you see the folder compile and cache

/tools/smarty_v2/compile (i did not have smarty_v2) ->klik on tools -klik on smarty_v2 - you see the folder compile and cache

BTW these folders are not in your theme but in prestashop

if you don't see or have these folders ,

than your install is incomplete

when you install manual an theme you need to unzip the theme

and upload it into the folder themes

you have to check that your theme is an single folder like

when you click on your new them folder once , you have to see all the files from your theme

like : mynewtheme -> you see folders and files

but when it is like : mynewtheme -> mynewtheme ->here you see folders and files , you won't see it in prestashop cause your thee is then in an subfolder

Hi!

I've tried to install different prestashop versions to see if that was the problem, the last version i had installed was 1.5... That was why i didn't se these folders, sorry for that... Now i've installed 1.4.7.3 again so i can see these folders, i also changed their permission but i still can't import any theme .. just getting the bad configuration file message. :/ Yes i can se the theme files directly in the new themefolder when I try to install it manually.
