Now restored and updated via the old method - but found another issue - all prices on products with combinations (i.e colour etc.) that should be the same price have magically had large price increases owing to a seemingly random amount being added to the the price impact box! Haven't a clue how this happened! Can someone at Prestashop help as an item that should cost £112 exc. tax (£134.40 inc tax) with colour variations previously set to zero is now showing price impact increases of £89.361702 and thus costing £201.36 exc. tax!
