I sent you a PM.

I'm rather new with Prestashop in general. I've edited quite alot of files, and im afraid a lot of it will go to waste when I update to a newer version... Maybe I should simply go try it :unsure:

Reading 16 pages and I'm still struggeling setting up this great slider. I run PS 1.4.9 and had no problem installing the slider. I also see the slider in HEADER OF PAGES and TOP OF PAGES, I was also able to upload 2 pics, title and url without error, but I can't see anything of the slider in my front office. It's just not there.

I'm using a copy of the standard prestashop theme with minor changes in the global.css. What could be the reason for not showing up in the front end? What am I doing wrong? Any idea?

Thanks in advance

MaJoran243,

I had the same I think, try enabling multi-language. It worked for me, I think it was conflicting and sending the addon data to US visitors or something (which I dont use).

Worth a try!

Check server error logs, maybe that will help. Also check permissions in uploads folder.

Hi,

By the looks of it, it's a great module. However, after uploading via FTP and CHMOD-ing

to 777, the whole module tab in the BO is empty (see attachment). Everything else still works fine. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Using PS 1.4.5.1 and module version minicslider-v2.1

Regards,

Steven

Installing via the BO did the trick...

Check server error logs, maybe that will help. Also check permissions in uploads folder.

Where can I find my server error logs? Permission in minic folder is 755 and 644. I've changed all to 777, but it didn't showed up. Is there a maximun width or something predefined? Maybe it's not fitting into the middle row/segment of my theme....I'm not showing the curency, language and Contact/Sitmap buttons in my frontend...could this be a reason for malfunction?

Many thanks for your help

Ok some more updates from my side...

I've installed minic slider 2.4.3 for Prestashop 1.4.9. When I check my site code following is displayed:

<!-- MINIC SLIDER --> <script type="text/javascript"> $(window).load(function() { $('#slider').nivoSlider({ effect: 'random', slices: 15, boxCols: 8, boxRows: 4, animSpeed: 500, pauseTime: 3000, startSlide: 0, directionNav: true, controlNav: true, controlNavThumbs: false, pauseOnHover: true, manualAdvance: false, prevText: 'Prev', nextText: 'Next', randomStart: false }); }); </script>

compared to the demo page where following is displayed:

<!-- MINIC SLIDER --> <div id="minic_slider" class="theme-default" style="width:610px;"> <div id="slider" class="nivoSlider" style="height:220px;"> <a href="https://baysidecigars.com/shop/en/prices-drop" > <img src="/shop/modules/minicslider/uploads/slide1_en.jpg" class="slider_image" alt="Sale Items" /> </a> <img src="/shop/modules/minicslider/uploads/slide2_en.jpg" class="slider_image" alt="" /> </div> </div>

my page doesn't have the source part...

does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Help is highly appreciated.

For some reason the smarty doesnt render the html part. This can happen if there are no language (which cant be!) or if there are some error. Enable the prestashop debug options, check server error log. If your shop isnt configured or changed try to reinstall it.

At first:

BEST MODULE OF ALL I´VE EVER SEEN!!

Nice, well-aranged code, exemplary module file-management!!

But, I had problem with generating thumbnails, as was said here: file .. /uploads/thumbs/... does not exist or whatever, but i was finding solution, you CANNOT have in

private function _resizer

seted path as:

$path = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].$this->_path.'/uploads/';
  $pathThumb = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].$this->_path.'/uploads/thumbs/';

... on my server was problem with missing one dir - www. After detailed look at error you can find it:D

So, In my case was solution static rewrite to:

$path = '/home/xxx.xx/public_html/www/modules/minicslider/uploads/';
  $pathThumb = '/home/xxx.xx/public_html/www/modules/minicslider/uploads/thumbs/';

Hope it helps someone!

Does this support png images yet?

Its support but the idea behind the Nivo Slider is that the images are on each other so if you upload a transparent png this could be a problem, or if you are smart and you have great photoshop skills you can play with this idea :)

wow. great module. wonder how i missed that so far. works well under 1.4.8.2. just donated some dollars. love the settings, easy to use. looks great! just 1 comment: after I uploaded the first 2 slides I wondered where to 'find' them in the modules settings under slides section in order to edit them. played around with the settings page and ultimately 'found' my active slides by clicking on the language flag. there they were. nice. but is there a possibilty to show my active slides right away without having to click on the language flag as I only sport 1 language anyway? multilanguage under options disabled already. would make sense if this is disabled that I see my slides right away... other than that minor user issue: did I say this is great?!

I can't get the slider to display on my client's website. When I view the code using FireBug it shows that the module is installed and showing up. (Code is visible in the HTML), but the browser can't find the image. Also in the admin area when I upload an image it says "error thumbnail not created". I checked the uploads folder within the module via FTP and its empty. The permissions are fine (755). Not sure what's causing this problem.

using prestashop 1.4.8 and mimic slider ver 1.4.x.x

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. I installed this module and it was working great, love it. Unfortunately I edited my shop logo, making it smaller, and ever since the minic slider will not show on my home page. It is showing on product pages. I use firefox so when the page loads it continues to spin like it is still trying to load something. I am using Prestashop v1.5. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

@minic studio : seems like a great module.

I have installed the last version 3.0.2 but when trying to configure I still get the Slider update available message.

Cannot add slides, the error message is :

Warning

permissions are 755 recursive.

Any thought, please ?

The image is there? (pstest/modules/minicslider//uploads/thumbs/admin_1.jpg)

Could be a problem when you upload the images and the process fail, if the image is there than something is wrong with the permissions.

Hello,

just want to ask any mimic slider users, or somebody who already know the answer.

I check all forum, but want to ask for any advice - how to set the size of slide frame -

for all pictures, let say for 580x300px ?

Must all added pictures has size - let say after changing - 580 x 300 ? Or the module will

automatically resize it ?

I am as well missing the most setting option, is it because I am using only one language in my eshop?

First, try the latest version 2.4.3 (should work), if not working i suggest you to upgrade to the latest prestashop version (1.4.9 for you). Second this version is responsive so the slider resize himself automatically (based on the space and on the image sizes), you also can adjust the height and width of the slider, BUT the best if the images has the same size.

I do not see why should be there a resize thing, its much easier to use other programs and provide more flexibility for advanced/developer users.

I´ve tried to instal the version 2.4.3 as you advice, but doesn´t work with my PS1.4.7

See attached pic, instalation with no problem via BO, but than doesn´t want to load any image.

Will try to set bact the version 2.0,is working, but only thing I am missing, is the main settings - where to set the width, speed of changing frames etc.

PS 1.4.7

Thats a very old version, you can find the configuration if you click to the options text (the legend of the fieldset), but there are no configuration to adjust the width of the slider.

As you can see here: http://nivo.dev7studios.com/support/jquery-plugin-usage/ the best if you make the images to be the same in size.

Note: As of v3.0 the slider is responsive by default. If you want a fixed size slider, please make sure all of your images are the same size.

Hi,

Previously I had PS v1.4.8.2 from which I made a direct upgrade to 1.4.9.0 through the 1-click upgrader module. On both versions I used the prestashop_new theme, slightly modified (mostly just some color values in global.css).

Also the minic slider module used was v2.1 which worked great.

The site was in a test period under /shop subfolder. I moved it to the root of the domain according to the offical Prestashop documentation and from there, the minic slider stopped working.

I tried several times to uninstall it and also delete remanescent entries from the database, and reinstall it but with no success.

Also tried the 2.4.3 version which according to your posts in the forums is 1.4.9.0 compatible (and recommended?). It almost works... The images are not sliding, instead showing up one after the other.

I'm kindly asking for an advice on what to do next...

PS. Also tried to send this bug through the Bug report feature of the module, but the Send button does not responding.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Ciprian

Hi!

This mean that the CSS and JS (javascript) files are missing or in the JS there are errors. This can be if you are removed the module from the HEADER HOOK or if your server mess up the paths and cant find the files. If there are errors than something is wrong with your custom JS files.

Hi.

Indeed, the module is not present in the Header hook, only in Home (Page) hook.

If i add it in the Header hook, the images are not showing up in the front page of the site. Still, Firebug shows the code of minic:

[...]<div id="center_column" class=" grid_5">

<div id="minic_slider" class="theme-default">

<div id="slider" class="nivoSlider" style="width:535px;">

<img class="slider_image" src="/modules/minicslider/uploads/SLIDER0_ro.jpg">[...]

The only erros I'm getting are from Apache:

[error] [client] PHP Notice: Undefined index: active in /[deleted]/modules/minicslider/minicslider.php on line 519

[error] [client] PHP Notice: Undefined index: keyboard in /[deleted]/modules/minicslider/minicslider.php on line 522

Hi,

And thanks for a great module. However, when I hook it to the right block, it's "jumping around" on the screen. Not sticking to the same position (to the right of the screen). What might that be?

Kind regards,

Hello! I installed minic slider 3.0 on my prestashop 1.5.2.0. I tried resizing the slider to 535x300 but instead of staying centered in the middle (just like the basic slider of prestashop in the default theme), it moves to the left.

- Here's how I want the minic slider to look like:

- Here's how it looks like with the resize 535x300:

Move it to the center column? This is a basic prestashop option ...

Hello, I uninstalled version 2.1 and installed the 2.4.3 version, now on page load takes 3 or 5 seconds longer than the version 2.1.

Does anyone happened?

Great module, thank you very much.

That's weird. I did exactly the same thing as yesterday and it works.

How come the columns on the side can't be raised to the top (next to the slider) ? And how come I can't move the minic slider in the module live edit?

MaJoran243,

I had the same I think, try enabling multi-language.

What do you mean with "enabling multi-language"? I don't display the hook "language" and "currency" in my shop, because there is german/Euro only.

Check server error logs, maybe that will help. Also check permissions in uploads folder.

How can I do that? Uploads folder has correct permission. Any other idea?

First of all, great slider, thanks!!!

And now one question, is it possible, to change CSS to have round edges of slider and slides?

Where must I change that (add)?

Thanks!

This isnt a related problem or question!

In Chrome browser (firebug in Firefox) you can inspect the website elements and there you can find the size of the center column.

Hi.

You can, you have to edit the nivo-slider.css and you can play with the border-radius. Just remember that the images in the slider are absolute positioned so you have to add the radius to that as well.

Hi Minic,

Thanks for the great module, I have several languages on my site but the slider does not show for other languages apart from the main one.

I have the languages option turned off on the module so I assumed it would show the same settings across all languages but the slider does not show at all?

I am running PS v1.4.9.0

Any help would be great.

Hello!

I'm new to Prestashop, so please excuse my ignorance.

I'm trying to put the Minic Slider in the default theme, in the place (and instead) of the default slider, I must be missing some step because it does not show.

Can anyone give me step-by-step guidance, including the coding part (if there is one), please?

Here is where it is missing from.

Thank yopost-445848-0-63522200-1355332849_thumb.jpgu!

Yes its should work like that, if you turn off the multilanguage in the slider than the default language based slides will be shown (could be that you used a different language than the default?).

If you install the module, by default should appear on the TOP of the pages HOOK.

Go to the http://doc.prestashop.com and search for the module guide, there is a detailed tutorial how to move modules from one position to another. Just dont forget to remove only from the TOP position and transplant to the HOME (do not remove from the HEADER).

Hi Minic,

Thanks for the fast reply.

My default shop language is ENGLISH and I have multi language turned off but the slider does not show for other languages.

In the BO the language shown on the slides is ENGLISH so everything is in place but this feature is not working?

Regards

Hi,

This module is great! Thx a lot! I have one question. About the size of it. I cannot change the height of the slider. I can only change the width, and then the size of the slider(width and height) changes in proportions.

Hi

Could you tell me the reason for this; the slider is further from the horizontal menu than it itself is high. This means that it's located at the "bottom" of the page when you open my website. Help?

You can go to the back office > modules > positions > live edit and move the slider to the top of page.

it is located between the featured products (in the "body" of the page) and the horizontal menu, so the position should be correct.. In addition, it can't be moved in live-edit...

Hi,

Try the latest module version for 1.4 presta.

Old versions has no HOOK TOP and have some other bugs as well.
