I didn't know for this option. I manage to find it.

This error is shown only when I uppload the minicslider module, when I delete it it's ok.

[Tue Jul 10 05:18:35 2012] [error] [client 85.21.240.42] File does not exist: /home/username/public_html/img/my/support.jpg, referer: http://mydomainname.com/

[Tue Jul 10 05:18:34 2012] [error] [client 85.21.240.42] File does not exist: /home/username/public_html/themes/theme925/js/ga.js, referer: http://mydomainname.com/

I upploaded both files to the server, but it's still doesn't working.

It's strange because also my other website don't have this files and it's still working.

This error belongs to something else, but due to the fact that this 2 error appear every time when someone visit your site the actual slider error is somewhere upper in (or in another) that file. So if you can check the error log after the blank module page appear would be great. Otherwise i cant help sry. (maybe if u send the error log, or try to search after the word: minicslider in the error log and paste the lines )

I enabled errors in config.inc.php and get the following error when acessing module:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/jkdfma/public_html/modules/minicslider/en.php on line 1

in the en.php file is the following code:

<?phpglobal $_MODULE;$_MODULE = array();?>

I simply upload a empty en.php and now it's working.

Thank you so much for your help!

I really appreciated!

Best regards!

Not compatible with Google Chrome 20.0.1132.57. It hides button on cart block and also other buttons (instead of the buttons there are only the links of the buttons available.)

Theme prestashop alternative (2-columns theme). Buttons again available if you are not on the index.php (so first site of your shop)

Solved by myself. I changed some Module positions on index-site. Now all working well. It seems that minic-slider is incompatible with other slider-modules if under or over them. Editorial modul is between them now.

My friend, i’m getting the An error occurred while creating thumbnails error. I’ve read all of your responses here and in the forum. I tried 755, 777 for all minicslider and subfolders and files. Doesn’t seem to be a permission problem. What it could be?

Hi,

I am using PS 1.4.8.2 and it throws the An error occurred while creating thumbnails. error at me. I set the entire module's folder to 777 both via FileZilla and in Godaddy's FTP Manager. But all in vain. Do you have another recommendation?

You did write something about server error log? How can I check what causing this error to appear on my store??

Thanks

Hi,

I dont know where you can find the log on Godaddy, but usually there are options for this in the cPanel or there is an error.log file in the prestashop directory or there is a log directory on the www level

Hello !

Thanks a lot for this GREAT module !

Is it possible I'm not getting smaller than 300px high slides online ?

From 300+ display is perfect, but I'm trying 250px and a blank zone stays under the slider (see it online at http://fr.sheilandi.com)

Thanks !

how to delete?

delete? i think you can set it up in Option menu ...turn off the Navigation - > Control..

I hope it solved your question :)

Open minicslider.php and the bottom of the file insert this:

public function hookYOUR_HOOK_NAME()
{
 return $this->hookHome();
}

Than you can transplant to that position.

I've already make this code in minicslider.php

public function hookCMSHook()

{

return $this->HookCMS();

}

and 2nd (which is I doubt it's the right thing to do) I add this code from front.tpl to cms.tpl and add specific page of cms only.

{if isset($cms) && $cms->id == 10}

{if $minicSlider.options.single == 0}

<div id="minic_slider" class="theme-default{if $minicSlider.options.thumbnail == 1 and $minicSlider.options.control != 0} controlnav-thumbs{/if}" style="width:{$minicSlider.options.width.$defaultLangIso.0}px;">

<div id="slider" class="nivoSlider" style="height:{$minicSlider.options.width.$defaultLangIso.1}px;{if $minicSlider.options.control != 1}margin-bottom:0;{/if}">

{foreach from=$slides.$defaultLangIso item=image name=singleimage}

{if $minicSlider.options.thumbnail == 1}rel="{$minicSlider.path.thumbs}{$image.image}"{/if}/>

{if $image.url != ''}</a>{/if}

Hi,

Yes its possible, if you are familiar with the smarty templates (.tpl files) than you should delete from there, its easy to find.

If you are not familiar with smarty than you can override with CSS:

- open nivo-slider.css ( found in : modules dir/minicslider/css/ )

- search for:

.theme-default .nivoSlider

- and isnert the folowing (change the value if you want bigger or smaller):

height: 250px !important;

- so will be:

.theme-default .nivoSlider {
width: 250px !important;
position:relative;
background:#fff url(../img/loading.gif) no-repeat 50% 50%;
margin-bottom:50px;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 1px 5px 0px #4a4a4a;
-moz-box-shadow: 0px 1px 5px 0px #4a4a4a;
box-shadow: 0px 1px 5px 0px #4a4a4a;
}

Could be that there are lots of empty lines, but that doesnt matter.

Hi,

You cant transplant like this because the module file wont send the data to that TPL (cms.tpl) file. The first approach was the right one, you have to insert the new HOOK position into the minicslider.php (on the bottom) than you should go to the modules page -> positions and use the Transplant a module function.

And use this:

public function hookCMSHook()
{
return $this->hookHome();
}

Also if you didnt created the new hook position than you should start with that, here is a simple tutorial : http://www.justwebdevelopment.com/blog/add-new-hook-in-prestashop/

thank you for your response, I really appreciate it... :)

oh yeah, great slider module anyway, smooth, customizable, complete features ;)

but, can you more specifically about " insert the new HOOK position " ?

so, after your answer, I search more in Google and did some changes based on this link

1st - create cms.tpl in ../modules/minicslider/tpl/cms.tpl

<div class="rte{if $content_only} content_only{/if}">
{$cms->content}
	{if isset($cms) && $cms->id == 10}
{$HOOK_CMSGallery}
		hello
{/if}
</div>

2nd - modified this code in /classes/frontcontroller.php

self::$smarty->assign(array(
  'HOOK_HEADER' => Module::hookExec('header'),
  'HOOK_TOP' => Module::hookExec('top'),
  'HOOK_LEFT_COLUMN' => Module::hookExec('leftColumn'),
  'CMSHook' => Module::hookExec('CMSHook')

3rd - add this code in minicslider.php

public function hookCMSHook()
{
return $this->hookHome();
}

*here is my database ps_hook

id_hook = '98'

name = 'CMSHook'

Title = 'CMSHook'

Desc = 'Hook for CMS Page'

Position = '1'

result in HTML :

<div class="rte">
 <p>test</p>

		hello

</div>

*EDITED*******************************************************************************

it seems I'm late to refresh my page and just see your edited post and did post this before read 'em..but still, the slider didn't showed up in my CMS page after I did some changes explained above..

******************************************************************************************

*EDITED 2nd****************************************************************************

I also did the 1st update into "/themes/mythemesname/cms.tpl"

but the result just the same :(

*note: I unhook the slider in homepage, is it okay?but I also hook in CMSHook and Header of Page

******************************************************************************************

Once again, thanks for every response of my question, sorry I'm kinda noobs, so please help me specifically..hehe..

Hi,

As i can tell you used a wrong name in frontcontroller (btw should be override) you have to use like this:

'HOOK_CMS_HOOK' => Module::hookExec('CMSHook')

The first hook definition have to be used in the TPL files:

{HOOK_CMS_HOOK}

The second will be used in the module file:

public function hookCMSHook()
{
return $this->hookHome();
}

The database part is OK but i suggest you to leave the first value to be NULL so will be incremented automatically.

EDIT:

Send me a PM with your e-mail address and i can send a sample with a custom hook.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE and EMAIL REPLY..it WORKS!

but your solution just wasn't work for the first time.

So, I searched in google, and find this link .

Thanks to codemj for giving me clue that something important is missing, I don't know what version is his prestashop, but it similar, in my 1.4.8.2 prestashop cms.php direct me to find /controller/CMSController.php and added this code:

self::$smarty->assign(array(
   'cms' => $this->cms,
   'content_only' => (int)(Tools::getValue('content_only')),
   'HOOK_RW_SLIDER' => Module::hookExec('rwSlider'), //----------------->added this code
   'path' => ((isset($this->cms->id_cms_category) AND $this->cms->id_cms_category) ? Tools::getFullPath((int)($this->cms->

And now it's work, the slider showed up in my spesific CMS page..!

GREAT MODULE and NICE SUPPORTS, a very well combination of that two..THANK YOU minic studio..! :lol::wub:

When I try to upload a slide in IE9 - nothing happens. I tested it on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera - they are all fine. I tried compatability mode for IE9, but no luck; tried to maximise all settings in php.ini - no luck. My website is on Bluehost. I use Windows 7 as my OS. Anybody, anyone do you have any ideas what to do? Is it just a random thing or it is a general issue.

I have actually found what caused the problem! In admin.tpl on line 204 there was a line of code which I deleted and it is working fine now in IE9. The line had a couple of <span> tags and dynamically generated button code between them. That button covered the real IE9 button hence the reason it didnt work.

I need Help please!

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Tools::addCSS() in /home/heladeri/public_html/tienda/modules/minicslider/minicslider.php on line 424

Do you know what could be happening?

This is weird thats a built in prestashop function and its used many times, try to reinstall or remove that code and add that CSS file manually.

I have actually found what caused the problem! In admin.tpl on line 204 there was a line of code which I deleted and it is working fine now in IE9. The line had a couple of <span> tags and dynamically generated button code between them. That button covered the real IE9 button hence the reason it didnt work.

That button was there because of the UI design, there is no other method to change the browse button, i`ll add IE conditional comment in the next version.

Somehow the script want to access the janb home dir!

Any ideas?

[edit]

the path seem to be broken by $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']

[/edit]

For everyone being told to 'Check permissions' this is how I fixed the issue (credit to marcelx for the clue):

After chmod 777 I still had: Error: An error occurred while creating thumbnails.

My Prestashop installation is in http://www.mydomain.com/prestashop but I use .htaccess rewrite so customers only see http://www.mydomain.com/ in the URLs and address bar.

After reading the post by marcelx I opened minislider.php file in the module folder and edited lines 723 & 725:

Line 723 (before):

$path = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].$this->_path.'/uploads/';

Line 723 (after):

$path = '/home/greenshr/public_html/prestashop/modules/minicslider/uploads/';

Line 725 (before):

$pathThumb = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].$this->_path.'/uploads/thumbs/';

Line 725 (after):

$pathThumb = '/home/greenshr/public_html/prestashop/modules/minicslider/uploads/thumbs/';

Placing the full path to these folders solved the issue. Hope this helps.

Hi,

If i`m right you use IE. To fix the issue i suggest another browser (chrome, firefox, opera, safari) or you have to remove/hide that browse button.

It supports PNG-s just you have to use them wisely (if transparent) and don't be surprised if the loading time is more than expected if you use PNG-s ...

Hi

I missed some options at the top of configuration page, was wondering where the slider effects were. About the png, i have curved edges to my slides to match my theme and the background is white at the edges. I guess i have to use rectangular images. Or maybe edit some css.

Otherwise its great i think. Will test it more. Thanks for making this.

Hi,

on PS 1.4.6.2 with the latest Minic Slider, the multilanguage feature is not working for me.

I have two languages, Engilsh and Greek.

With multilanguage turned off, the slideshow works fine.

When I turn it on, in the English version it's fine, but on the Greek one the Minic slider does not even show.

Debugging the page, i see the minic script is loading with no apparent errors, but the div that contains the slider does not show.

Anyone with this issue?

Thanks

FYI, I solved this issue by removing the

on line 45 and the

{/if}

on line 69

in modules/minicslider/tpl/front.tpl

:rolleyes: Thanks, good works on Presta Shop 1.4.7.3

But I have problem in using long Url Link of the slide: An error occured while saving data.

Decision: 1. If module currently installed In Database table ps_minic_slider change url type on varchar(256)

2. If module not installed in minicslider.php line 58 modified: url VARCHAR(255),.

No. Should work. Check permissions and the server error log.

I haven't change the permissions of folder/subfolders (it is 0755).

Many thanks to Minic Studio, have resolved my issue with slider covering the top of the horizontal menu, here's the solution should anyone else need it. Thanks again for your help, fantastic support!! :)

The solution is simple:

- in your template folder search for css/global.css ( your ftp/themes/matrice/css/global.css )

- open with an text editor and search in the file for : #main_center_column

- you should find this:

#main_center_column {

margin: auto;

width: 890px;

}

- below the width, type this:

clear: both;

And check your site ;).

Or you can also edit modules/minicslider/css/nivo-slider.css, at line 438 and set a margin-top:

margin-top: 40px;

Hi,

You can modify the minicslider.php and add any position you wish.

public function hookLeftColumn(){
return $this->hookHome();
}

Replace hookLeftColumn to the name of the hook (ex: hookTop)

Hi thanks for the prompt response. I'll work on your suggested fix. This is my friend's website. Just want to replace the static banner with a basic slider. She brought this template from template monster but TM couldn't give her a support regarding this, so im sorta helping her out and i'm new to prestashop.

I am running minicslider v2.1 on PrestaShop 1.4.8.2. When I select Configure on the minicslider module, I get two error messages:

Notice: Undefined variable: error in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_data.php on line 291
Notice: Undefined variable: confirmation in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_data.php on line 291

If I delete a slider, I get only the first of those two messages.

As far as I can tell, the module is otherwise working as expected.

Hi,

after turning errors to on in prestashop (1.4.9) i get:

Notice: Undefined offset: 5 in /var/www/xxxxxxxx/modules/minicslider/minicslider.php on line 196

The module seems to work though but there are some issues with the internationalization of this module that need to be solved I think.

Hi,

Something is going wrong when trying to insert the data into the database. Not sure whats wrong, this "error" is just a warning and doesn't belongs to the actual problem. Can you check the error logs for detailed errors?
