The module uses whichever units you have defined in your store.

If you use kg, it will calculate everything in kg

Yes, it does, same as all our shipping modules.

Hi tomerg3,

i'm using your module and it works pretty well.

Actually, i need to alter functionality. Is it possible to change shipping rate due to number of products? (ie. alternative to weight and price?) Are you thinking of enriching functionality of your module?

Link to post

You can pretty much do that now, but not in the cleanest way.

If you set all the prices to the same weight (IE 0.1), you can then add ranges 0-0.1, 0.1-0.2 etc... and add a price for each of them.

We are not likely going to add this functionality to the module, unless there is a big demand, or as a custom job (you can contact us from or site for a quote, although we cannot take any new work in the next 4 weeks or so as we prepare for PS 1.5).

How can I hook this module to the shopping cart? I tried to make it in the Back Office > Modules > Positions but it says "This module cannot be transplanted to this hook." And I've tried several connections. It's always the same message.

I want the zip code field appearing in the shopping cart, letting customers to calculate the whole order shipping. Nowadays, it only appears in the block cart and product page.

The module can only be used in the product page (HOOK ACTIONS) and in the custom hook (which you can place anywhere you want).

If you want to use it in a new hook, you would have to modify the code yourself to allow it.

What about this Custom Hook... How does it work? Does it demand that I modify the code?

I think I can figure out to made some minor changes, but I'm just looking for the securiest way.

Set a carrier as default with same zone as country

I created a zone and linked one of the other carriers to the zone

I linked a state in the country to the new zone

When I select that state I get the message No carrier is available for this selection

Actually no matter what I choose I get the same message

One specific country.

Hello,

I have just bought this module but will need some guides on how to configure it.

I need to configure different payment / state or payment / city.

The shop is targeting Nigeria where zip code is not used. I will like to disable the function completely so that it does not appear in the shipping rate checking.

More so when checking shipping rate as a guest, I received an error message as follows:

Invalid Zipcode, if your country does not use zipcodes, enter 1111

Thanks.

The module was designed to work with a zip code.

If you do not want to use zipcode, you will need to use CSS to hide it, and edit the localizedshipping-preview.tpl file and give it a default value (such as 11111)

You can set it per state, but no per city, the module doesn't work with City.

Add a display:none to the zipcode elements, you can use Firebug for Firefox to find the exact element.

Hello tomerg3, I am looking for a shipping estimator module which works fine with multiple carriers, and I am interested in your module.

I have a 5 carriers store, and another 5 shipping zones. I need to show the proper transporter and exact shipping costs to a unregistered user.

Also I will need to place the estimator in the shopping cart page.

In addition, I would to show 'Spain' as default country, or simply let Spain as the only country in selector, but I think that module only uses system countries.

Hello,

I'd like to buy a template that is really so good but I saw there is not the "Estimate your shipping & taxes" in the cart before to loggin, is there a way to put it there? I tried to find it as module but seems doesn't exist, but a lot of templates use that option before customers pass to the registration part.

I hope somebody can help me,

No, transit time is a prestashop field and is attached to the carrier.

I filled all the data needed for the carriers and zones in the module, but the store itself continues to take data from the "Shipping" label, and not from the module.

Appreciate any help.

Never mind, I figured it out. Need to update weight on the products, not leave it 0.

But I'd wish the cart would have given a message when the total weight of the products exceeds the limits, because it just stops at stage 4 with a message "There's no carriers available" or something like this.

Hello,

I just bought your module and I'm having a problem...

my weight unit is in Kg (kilo grams) and I need 3 digits after the decimal point, for weights in grams like this: 0.021

your module only use 2 digits after the decimal point, so it register only 0.21, this is 210 grams, and i want 21 grams (0.021)

the default prestashop weight unit in Kilo grams is 0.000000 kg (6 digits after the decimal point)

i can't understand how do you ended up with 2 digit on your module,

i bet you don't use kilo grams too much ah?

Can you please fix this?

Tanks in advance

You can set it per state, but no per city, the module doesn't work with City.

Add a display:none to the zipcode elements, you can use Firebug for Firefox to find the exact element.

So, if you do not disable the element zipcode in the css, you cannot estimate only by state or country?

if so, then the title and the description of your module is misleading...

"Set Shipping Rates By Country, State Or Zipcode" it's always by zipcode!

I think it is not too practical this way  isn't there a way you can estimate only by state and also have an option to estimate by zipcode? IE: if a client insert a zip code the state will be override by the zip code.

Please consider add this option

PS: please consider making this module more user friendly, not every one know how to change code line in the css

a simple button in the BO of the module configurations to disable the zip code would be handy B)

Best regards.

Just my 2cents. I have used this module before and if you are wanting to set it by state, use zipcode ranges. Take a look at this table, http://www.empyrean.net/zipcodes.htm See you can set two zipcodes that deal with the whole state. Then it is set up by states.

Hi

The problem I had in the post #67 is fixed

I had to Modify the module to allow for 3 digit after the decimal point

So... for anyone who need the weight unit in Kg to have a 3 digit after the decimal point

please follow the instructions below:

1 - uninstall the module,

or if you don't want to uninstall the module then you must edit the DB tables

(ps_fe_shp_method, ps_fe_shp_ranges, ps_fe_shp_rates) and change the decimal values there too

2 - open the file: "localizedshipping.php"

and find the codes below

we must find this code and change the decimal value (6,2) to (6,3)

`free_shipping_weight` decimal(6,2) NOT NULL,
`free_shipping_max_weight` decimal(6,2) NOT NULL,

and this one too, change the decimal value (20,2) to (20,3):

`range_from` decimal(20,2) NOT NULL,
`range_to` decimal(20,2) NOT NULL,

and the last one, must change the decimal (6,2) to (6,3)

Db::getInstance()->execute('ALTER TABLE  `'._DB_PREFIX_.'fe_shp_method` ADD `free_shipping_max_weight` decimal(6,2) NOT NULL AFTER  `free_shipping_weight`');

I want to offer free shipping (for the whole order) if the customers order reach 60€, for example,

but from the selected categories.

I wanto to offer free shipping for the order if the client buys " 60€ of potatos and 5€ of tomatos"

but not if the client buys " 60€ of tomatos and 5€ of potatos"

Can your module do that??

Hi Martin,

I think you can do!

I buy the module, and work fine, but dont test about your question.

In the config, you can configure goods, category, etc!

Below the text help in module:

---------------

Enter or edit Free Shipping limits, per carrier, by weight or price (orders above these limits will be free). Enter or edit the Max weight limit per carrier and any order above this weight will not receive free shipping.

To apply free shipping to particular products only, enter Product ID (P), Category ID ©, Manufacturer id (M) or Supplier id (S). Separate multiple values with a comma.

If no other products are in the cart, shipping will be free, otherwise these product will be exlcuded from the shipping cost

--------------

Thanks

Mauro

There is no built in way in our module to do this.

You could create a new carrier, and assign it (from the product editor) to the products that it should affect, but that may cause issues if you have different products in the cart.

You can contact us using https://www.presto-changeo.com/en/contact_us if you want a quote for a customization.

Hi Tom, I've been testing your module and I find that it greatly improves one important drawback of Prestashop. I would use without any doubt for a new Prestashop installation, but I have some doubts about installing it on a production site.

That is, the module needs to create new carriers, so now we have two types of carriers, the old ones created with the old system (which follow the old rules)

and the new ones created by your module that follow the new improved rules.

Is possible to transform the old ones to work with the module? or we had better delete the old and create new ones in substitution?

Which is the best approach to follow for production shops to pass to use your module for calculating shipping rates?

Thanks
