Customers can not register - birthday is required

Recommended Posts

Shop v. 1.4.x

When a customer tries to create an account, they get the error that the Birthday is required, even if that data is supplied.

The field is not marked as required (no red asterisk).

First, where can you control what fields are required on the customer create an account form?

Second, any one have any ideas on why it will not accept the data for birthday - no matter what - therefore preventing customers from registering?

http://www.biograframe.com/ - try to register as a customer to see the error.

OK - I figured out how to remove the actual Date of Birth fields from the create account form (themes/(custom theme)/authentication.tpl - but obviously, the field is still required. Does anyone know what file (in version 1.4.x) controls what fields are required?

To be specific, If I submit a blank create account form - it spits this back:

There are 7 errors :

  1. You must register at least one phone number
  2. lastname is required.
  3. password is required.
  4. firstname is required.
  5. birthday is required.
  6. address (1) is required.
  7. city is required.

What file tells it which of the above fields are required so I can remove the requirement for birthday.

Hi,

Is there anyway I can remove the Address, Telephone, Zip Fields etc.

As the people who DL from my shop just won't fill that in.

My site offers licenced Opensim downloads, and all that info apart from Name & Email Address is not really a requirement.

Cheers

Mike

go to the back office, customer section. scroll to the bottom and expand the "Set required fields for this section". uncheck the fields that you do not want required

Do u know why I don't have these fields? I only have "newsletter" and "opt-in".

Help! I also can't register a customer due to the problem of the bday field. Anyone?
