Hi there,

Back again from a quick browse! Please don' t take offence at anything I might say.........

Firstly - your items are lovely and your prices are good, as well as postage - I would be very tempted to buy!

I like the purpley colours on your logo and think it would look well, placed top left. The theme you are using is the standard Prestashop one. It would be nice if you could find a theme that reflected the colours in your logo - I think that would look much better. There are lots of free themes available or many at low prices - just search for Prestashop themes on the internet or check out Prestashop's themes - they are very easy to install. Be careful though to check that any theme is compatible with the version of Prestashop that you are using.

Looking at the different pages, you have used a variety of fonts - I would try to keep to one style and not use comic sans at all. I find verdana looks well on a site.

Lastly, could you perhaps run a spell checker on your info pages?

Hope this helps a wee bit. I love prestahop too, but I did find it a steep learning curve as my knowledge is limited. Take your time and play around - you have done great for a first attempt.

I am still finding loads of mistakes in my set up and have not had the courage to ask for constructive criticism yet - lol!

I like your shop name too - sound lovely and vintagey!

All the best,

Wendy

Hi Wendy, thanks for replying! To be honest I don't like the theme, well I do, it's great for gadgets, but not for my kind of shop, I could only find 2 others, one didn't suit, and the other was for Christmas, and I am not up to getting a theme off the prestashop site, not sure what site I can trust! If anyone can recommend that would be great. Yes I am still working on the fonts, and the spelling!!! ( I do have spellchecker too!) just a rush to get things on, get a rough idea, then polish it up. I appreciate your reply!

Hi there,

Sorry was in bath!! I will have a wee scout round my bookmarks - there are a few good ones out there, who are reasonably priced (dollars usually) and can be trusted. They are also good at responding if you have any problems.

Have a wee look on the forums too - there is a section for themes and if you trawl through, there are quite a few offered free as a contribution to Prestashop, also good for different modules to enhance your site.

I found that to get the site looking how you want it, you will have to pay for add ons, but that is really par for the course when Prestashop is free.

I am more or less finished my site now (just need a better logo). I started mid-July! I paid roughly $20 for a theme, plus extra for some modules, although many can be found for free on the forums or in Prestashop add ons. My biggest outlay was to get my products imported, as it was not straightforward - a Danish guy on the forums did it for me and was really patient, as I hadn't a clue! It really is worth taking a thorough look through the forums as there are many gems to be uncovered! If you have any questions, you might find it can take a while for an answer, but you will get one eventually, especially if it has to do with the design of your shop and moving things around.

I have things to do this evening, as I go back to work tomorrow after very long summer holidays! But I will have a look later and see if I can find some links for you - it may be tomorrow before I can get back. It's also worth a post as there are loads of people who could point you in the right direction for a theme - I have seen loads of really nice ones offered here either for free or for a small amount of money. What version of Prestashop are you using?

All the best,

Wendy

Hi there,

Sorry I couldn't get back sooner!

Did you manage to find a suitable theme yet? I have looked under vintage and antique - but they all appear to be quite expensive! If you check the Prestashop themes (addons at the top of this page), you will find a couple of reasonably priced themes with your kind of colour scheme. There is one at about £27 which is quite attractive. I haven't found any others which don't cost an arm and a leg - sorry!

Apologies, that I couldn't be of more help! The more specialised themes appear to be pricier. it is still worth a look through the free section in the forums to see if any suitable themes have been added in the past, or asking if anybody knows where one can be sourced.

I, too, have struggled to find anything to do with schools/educational resources. Any I found that were vaguely suitable didn't support my version of Prestashop or were horribly expensive!

Will have to make a request - when I find out where - lol!

Good luck with going live and finding the look you want.

Regards,

Hello Valeri,

Before giving a suggestion, I am a girl and really like your products specially a opulent purple purse. But the first look taken at your site is very literal overwhelmed by a lots of words. your product's images are not large enough to attract my eyes.

As my experiences, you should adopt a slideshow to make your site better at be eye-catching.

The price of each item need run under it's sight..

For example: http://www.hommesdumonde.com/

Or u can use this slideshow. it will probally make your site work well. It's helping me get more traffic.
