Anyway, if I would be in his shoes I would choose to place the cart on the right side (there's a reason for that). Add to cart button and checkout have to be in different colors (clients have to distinguish them - all the website is using the same color for buttons, as far as I see) Logo have to be clickable. Those days peoples are used to click on the logo to go on the homepage... On the front page the images are too crowded and too little to see them.
