"Statuses" Check boxes - Clarification Question

Hi all,

I have tried to find out what the following means to no avail.
I need to create a new Status under the "Orders" tab >> "Statuses" subtab.

I am confused as to what the check box "Consider the associated order as validated" means.
I do understand what the other 3 check boxes imply, just not this particular check box.

Please see screen capture for more detail.
Any clarification would be of great help.

Hi Lisa,

 

if you check this box, Prestashop will consider the order as valid (successfully paid), and it will now show up in your sales reports. Items from that order will now be taken into account by other modules like "Customers who bought this also bought..." or "Best Sellers". If you use the free credit card module, the card details will be deleted. And so on.

 

I am not sure about stock behavior though: are items removed from stock only after an order has been changed to a "validated" status, I don't know for sure.
