Hi Anyone
i keep getting this message at the end of checkout just before payment i have an alpha ssl cert but cant understand why this keeps coming up any help would be most appreciated as i have spent 2 days trying to work it out so far and its driving me mad.

PayPal response:
TIMESTAMP -> 2011-06-25T19:52:02Z
L_ERRORCODE0 -> 10002
L_SHORTMESSAGE0 -> Security error
L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> Security header is not valid
L_SEVERITYCODE0 -> Error
PayPal returned error

What is the security header supposed to be, is it the ssl seal

Many Thanks
Kev

I think it is your Paypal account information(API user/signature) to authenticate you to communicate with Paypal server.
in most cases, this error is caused by human mistakes. but not 100% sure.
Make sure you have input correct information.

Please check it here for more details

Also please try to disable your PrestaShop cache during test and modification.

I had the same issue and corrected it.
Heres how I got it to work correctly.
Go to the Settings tab in the PayPal module page.
Make sure that the first line that says: Sandbox mode (tests): is set to "Inactive"

I had mine set to "Active" and thats why I why getting the same message as you did.

2014 still an issue by default..

 1. PayPal response:
 2. TIMESTAMP -> 2014-07-08T23:04:51Z
 3. L_ERRORCODE0 -> 10002
 4. L_SHORTMESSAGE0 -> Security error
 5. L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> Security header is not valid
 6. L_SEVERITYCODE0 -> Error

Ofcourse the message is only shown when in "test mode" In live mode

It's now shown, but it will cause the paypal page "NOT to include creditcards"

only either login or create a new paypal account.

9 years and still a issue i see, i only came back because i was on notification, so here to disable the notifications :p

Anyway, i solved it on webshop, by replacing presta with a custom shop, which now is quite successful.
Different domain, different software similar products.. all good..

Enjoy guys,, Merry xmas and happy new year.
