I found the solution to my problem, in the global.css this line here:

/* usefull links */
#primary_block ul#usefull_link_block {padding:18px 0 0 0;clear:both;overflow:hidden;}

I changed it to

/* usefull links */
#primary_block ul#usefull_link_block {padding:18px 0 0 0;clear:both;overflow:visible;}

And now I can see everything.

Hi,

Great module. I didn't have any issues during the installation and I'm using my own APP ID. I'm using Bulgarian language and the Like button is fine and correctly translated. However the Send button is not translated. As far as I understood the Send text comes from Facebook and has nothing to do with the module. But when using Facebook's button generator http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/send/ the button appears translated. Why is that and can I set the text of the Send button manually?

Many thanks!

I am getting the "The page failed to provide a valid list of administrators. It needs to specify the administrators using either a "fb:app_id" meta tag, or using a "fb:admins" meta tag to specify a comma-delimited list of Facebook users." error. I have created my own Facebook app. The content is liked on Facebook, shows up on my wall and in Facebook search, but still the error message is very misleading to users. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks to Voliminal's tip and to a lot of mucking about in Facebook's documentation, I got rid of the "Error" message. I manually added some properties to the header.tpl file, so now mine looks like this:

{if $product}
    <meta property="og:title" content="{$product.name|escape:'htmlall':'UTF-8'}"/>
   <meta property="og:type" content="product"/>
   <meta property="og:image" content="{$link->getImageLink($product.link_rewrite, $product.id_image, 'medium')}"/>
   <meta property="og:description" content="{$description|escape:htmlall:'UTF-8'}"/>
   <meta property="og:url" content="http://{$smarty.server.HTTP_HOST}{$smarty.server.REQUEST_URI}"/>
   <meta property="fb:admins" content="YOUR ADMIN USER ID"/>
   <meta property="fb:app_id" content="YOUR FB APP ID"/>
   <meta property="og:site_name" content="YOUR SITE'S NAME"/>
   <meta property="og:description" content="YOUR SITE'S DESCRIPTION"/>
{/if}
~

Not sure if you need both admin ID and app ID, but I've added them both just in case. Also, whatever you put in the og:description tag is shown when a user likes your content.

With this solution, you lose the ability to edit your configuration from PS's backoffice, but everything works beautifully. Thanks a lot bemcapaz for your excellent work.

Hi, I've the same problem mentioned by Garrido.

You've edit the header.tpl of your theme or head.tpl of the module?

Nobody have different solution?

I've found strange this problem, if it's important have both app_id and admin why didn't them include on the configuration of this module?

Hi guys I have followed garrido's tip http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/115844-modulefree-facebook-like-a-lot-prestashop-14-update-2810-with-facebook-open-graph-tags/page__view__findpost__p__661577

for the error problem with the Facebook Like a Lot module, but I get another error, if you have time may you have a look at it?

My pb is that I put my AppID and Admin ID as garrido suggested in head.tpl, then when I click on the Like button I get a good post on my facebook page, but next to the button it appears again the Error.

When I debug the page with Facebook Lint I get the following (see below). It is like the module kept somewhere the information on the standard AppID (213689662010141) not considering mine (252733048107517)... Also it says that the og:url, og:tyoe and og:title are required but I have written them in head.tpl as well! (my head.tpl is exactly as garrido wrote on the forum, I copy-pasted it and changed my details)

if you have any idea I would really appreciate your help... thanks a lot

I'm trying to find a way to change what is submitted to Facebook. Instead of the products short description I want to put my own blurb that would be standard for all products. Does anyone know where to change this?

I've tried modifying on likealotmodule.php:

 $smarty->assign(array(
  'description' => strip_tags($description->description_short),
  'product' => $product
  ));
 return $this->display(__FILE__, 'head.tpl');

and

$description = new Product($id_product, true, $id_lang);

but also on head.tpl:

<meta property="og:description" content="{$description|escape:htmlall:'UTF-8'}"/>

But sadly without any luck! Any ideas?

Any ideas anyone?

It worked for me to include BOTH tags in /modules/likealotmodule/head.tpl:

<meta property="fb:app_id" content="XXXXXXXXXX"/>
<meta property="fb:admins" content="YYYYYYYYYYYYY"/>

Include those two lines just before "{/if}".

Of course, replace XXXX with your App id, and YYYY with your own Facebook Id

Good luck!

How can I use opengraph on product-list page?

For the moment I have it like this:

in header tpl

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="{$lang_iso}" xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml">

<meta property="og:title" content="{$product.name|escape:'htmlall':'UTF-8'}"/>
<meta property="og:type" content="product"/>
<meta property="og:image" content="{$link->getImageLink($product->link_rewrite, $imageIds, 'home')}"/>
<meta property="og:description" content="{$description|escape:htmlall:'UTF-8'}"/>
<meta property="og:url" content="http://{$smarty.server.HTTP_HOST}{$smarty.server.REQUEST_URI}"/>
<meta property="fb:app_id" content="my app id"/>
<meta property="og:site_name" content="my web"/>
<meta property="og:description" content="my web site description"/>

then in body

 <div id="fb-root"></div>
<script>(function(d, s, id) {
 var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
 if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
 js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
 js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/es_LA/all.js#xfbml=1";
 fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>

Then in product list tpl

   {foreach from=$products item=product name=products}

<div class="product">
<div class="fb-like" data-href="{$product.link|escape:'htmlall':'UTF-8'}" data-send="true" data-layout="button_count" data-width="300" data-show-faces="false" data-font="verdana"></div></div>

{/foreach}

So obviously the link for each products works fine, but image, description and product name not

how to pass the right CURRENT image, descr and product name in this case?

In order to remove the warnings:

The page failed to provide a valid list of administrators. It needs to specify the administrators using either a "fb:app_id" meta tag, or using a "fb:admins" meta tag to specify a comma-delimited list of Facebook users.

and

Tiny og:image All the images referenced by og:image must be at least 200px in both dimensions. Please check all the images with tag og:image in the given url and ensure that it meets the minimum specification.

from http://developers.fa...com/tools/debug

I had to add the following line in head.tpl:

<meta property="fb:app_id" content="{Configuration::get('LIKE_FACEBOOK_APP_ID')}"/>

and edit the og:image meta tag to display the large images (check the end of line):

<meta property="og:image" content="{$link->getImageLink($product.link_rewrite, $product.id_image, 'large')}"/>

The Facebook application ID is obtained from the Like A Lot module's configuration panel. Have in mind that in Facebook the Facebook App must be allowed to integrate with Website and the Site URL must be exactly as your store's URL (www or non-www matters too).

In order to apply the changes you must disable cache and force compile in Admin / Preferences / Performance.

And check again if there are errors with the Facebook's open graph tags here: http://developers.fa...com/tools/debug

The Facebook Like a Lot module, it appends bellow the product image a Like or Send button. The current version also turns your product page in a full open graph object for facebook, that means your product page can be discovered through facebook search like if it is a Facebook Fan Page :D

It's important that you create a Facebook App before using the module, it will need the information. If you need help creating the App you can follow this tutorial that explain step by step How to Create a Facebook App

Module Overview

Prestashop Version 1.4+

Module Version 1.3

Module Page Facebook Like a Lot Prestashop Module

Changelog

1.0 => 1.1 : added Open Graph compatibility to the module

1.1 .=> 1.2 : some tweaks on the code, added 2 new extra Open Graph tags the og:site_name and fb:app_id

1.1 => 1.2.1 : code review and tested on Prestashop 1.4.4.1

1.2.1 => 1.3: fixes for the changes on Facebook API

Download Link

Description and Features:

In the Admin page will be able to:

- Choose the language of your country (default to English, en_US)

- Input your own Facebook APP ID or use the default one provided with the module

- Select to show users pictures or not

- Show/Hide the new send button togheter with the Like Button

- Choose the text of the like button beetween LIKE or RECOMMEND

- Transform your page in a Open Graph Object by adding the following OG properties to your products page

og:title : get the name of the title of the product

og:type : setted to 'product', so facebook knows that your page is a product

og:image : also make the Send button always render the proper product image

og:description : get the short description of your product

og:url : your current product page url

og:site_name : automatically get your shop name new

fb:app_id : automatically get the app id of your site new

That means that your products now can be found on facebook like if they were Fan Pages, the picture appended show how it works.

Working Example:

You can find an example of the module running here http://develop.ilet....hp?id_product=1

Possible Integration Issues

1.My Like button isn´t being loaded right at the bottom of the image, what I have to do?

2.When I click 'Like' it automatically gets unliked without any action, whats going on? new

Im available for any other doubts or problems regarding use and integration of the module.

Other Modules

I finished the Clean iLet jQuery Carousel Module that can be found in that link or in this forum in the post [MODULE][FREE] iLet Clean jQuery Carousel for Prestashop 1.4+

First and foremost, thanks for the module, its excellent!

However, I face 2 issues.

1) I can execute all the features as mentioned, but how to "transform your page in a Open Graph Object by adding the following OG properties to your products page" ?

og:title : get the name of the title of the product

og:type : setted to 'product', so facebook knows that your page is a product

og:image : also make the Send button always render the proper product image

og:description : get the short description of your product

og:url : your current product page url

og:site_name : automatically get your shop name new

fb:app_id : automatically get the app id of your site new2)

2) I have tried to send mail to my FB friends, but the "send" button is disappeared as shown below.

Please advice. Thanks

I have the same issue with likealotmodule module

hi! it was easy to solve this

In likealotmodule/likealot.tpl just change the font value to one of the fonts supported by facebook.

example: verdana (with small letters)

and VOILA

I cant hook it in extra left or left column . i Haven't installed any other social media modules and i have deleted every hook in the left column block that is hooked by default in prestashop. i have a new site and everything is new . So other modules like send to a freind or other unnecessary modules are not installed even once. But unluckily i cant install this module . I tried two times by re installing the module but all in vain.

plz help me on this
