Shab Souri
Hello I have spoken with Webshipper support regarding their module. However, they have stated that they will no longer continue updating it due to a decline in the number of users, even though I still need it. The current version of PrestaShop I am using is 8.2.1. The reason I rebuilt the webshop on PrestaShop 8.2.1 is that I encountered issues with the old database on the previous webshop, which was running version 1.7.x. Additionally, the server was upgraded to the latest version of PHP (8.3). Among other things, I am experiencing an issue on the checkout page: public_html/modules/webshipper/webshipper.php on line 173 As a result, Webshipper has declined to assist with the problem. Any help regarding this issue ?
El Patron
For PrestaShop 8, it’s recommended to use PHP 8.1. Running a higher version, like PHP 8.3, can lead to compatibility issues—not only with the Webshipper module, but potentially with other modules as well. If you’re not sure how to change your PHP version, I suggest contacting your hosting provider for assistance. Since Webshipper is dropping support, they should at least provide clear information on which PrestaShop and PHP versions their module is compatible with. In your situation, my advice would be to look for a replacement—ShipStation and similar alternatives are worth considering. If you want to continue with Webshipper, you could post a job in the “Jobs” section to find a developer who can update the module for PrestaShop 8/8.1. Just keep in mind that running PHP 8.3 will likely result in other issues beyond Webshipper. Hope this helps!
