How to limit discount on a cetegory

I have several customer groups that get different discounts.  I have 1 category of products that I don't want any discount to apply. Is there any way to do this?  I looked at cart rules but it does not refer categories, just customer groups.  Any ideas?

If you want to remove a discount for any specific category for a customer group.

Then you need to create a discount of 0.00% for the category in CUSTOMERS > GROUPS.

Select a group & click on the edit button, then click "Add a category discount" and select a category and leave the discount at 0.00%.

Note: This will work for the product's default category.
