Spam visitors

I recently found out my shop is receiving a lot of spam visitors. According to the IP, they are coming from the USA.

Previously I noticed similar behavior with visits coming from China, Israel and India. I was having over 600 visitors at any given time.
My shop is not that popular it has usually around 10 active visitors when I randomly check.

I managed to put it to a stop by blocking those countries through .htaccess 

However, it would suck having to do the same with the USA.

Any idea what is going on, why this is happening and any way to prevent it?

Good one, I didn't think of Googling those IPs, just checked on IP locator.

I assume I should leave it do its thing?

If it's google, then You should leave it as if You block it, then google will not able to crawl Your site which mean bad for Your SEO.

 

Also, I would like to recommend to use CloudFlare and enable bot fight if You're concern about spam traffic.

By the way, I have a pretty useful advanced Prestashop cleaner 🙃

It also contains an extension that does not write to the database and connection tables according to the settings of IP addresses or their parts, according to the name of the robots...
