Set a different VAT rate for specific users

Hello,

how can I set a different VAT rate for a foreign user, while maintaining the standard VAT rate for other users of the same country? For example, german users who purchase from my site normally do not have VAT on their products, but some german customers need to have VAT applied to their products, so for the accounts of these German users the site must apply VAT, while for the others it does not.

Hi,

When you say some German customers need to pay VAT and other German customers do not pay VAT, do you mean customers who are individuals versus those you are VAT regsitered companies in Germany?

Also are you exporting to Germany from another country?

Was only an example, so: in prestashop 1.7.8.10, how we can set VAT by specific user or by user group?

VAT rate should be set on products, not customers

Yes we know this, but on a specific Vat rate, we can set different VAT per country. The problem is this: in some countries some customers may have a different tax regime, so: is it possible in prestashop to customize taxes per customer or customer group?

This is what I was asking. What do you mean by ''some customers may have a different tax regime''? Are you trying to differentiate between individuals and companies?

In some foreign countries there are cases of companies that, for their tax regimes, ask to purchase by applying VAT, while in general for foreign purchases VAT must not be applied, so we need have a way to insert tax on product for some clients of a country, but not for the others clients of same country.

as FoodFromCyprus said it is just an application or not of VAT, but not a specific rate for one person or another I recommend my module https://addons.prestashop.com/fr/comptabilite-facturation/27158-numero-de-tva-europeen.html It also allows you to create accounting reports and VAT reports.

Whit this module can we set to apply or not Vat for specific users or users group?

if the customer is foreign and has a valid VAT number on VIES then he is billed without taxes

Yes, exactly. For VAT registered companies you do not need to group them into a separate customer group. You need to enable in your settings to colect the full company details, including their VAT number, at the time they register on your website. The software will automatically check their VAT number in the VIES database  and issue an invoice without VAT.

We already collect Vat number of company and alraady we autocheck VIES, but some EU foreign companies,  for their tax regime, ask us to have a billing with Vat.

Ok, now I understand but I have no answer to that. We never had an example of an EU VAT registered company that wanted us to charge them VAT.
