Error opening Translations page in Admin for specific Language

Hi, I'm having a problem trying to open the translations page in Admin for pt-PT.

When I try to open it popups the error "Unable to load the file in var/cache/prod/themes/theme_zonan1/translations/pt-PT/ShopThemeGlobal.pt-PT". 

If I go via FTP to the specified file it's really empty, now the question is why it's empty? If I go to the resources folder the file is not empty, looks like something is breaking when it's generating this cache file. Any ideas what it can be happening? If I search the logs I can only see this error.

What I already tried:

• Added a new language pt-BR and it gives the same error
• Tried to copy the xlf files from en-US to pt-PT and changing the name of the files to pt-PT also same error.
• Changes of translation in en-US works
• Changes of translation in classic theme pt-PT works

 

Can't find more information about the error.

What is the best way to solve or to identify this issue?

Also would be nice if someone can point out this to be a issue with the Theme I'm using or with the core of Prestashop.
