From MySQL 5.6 to MariaDB10

Hello everyone, what's new?

I currently manage sites of one of my customers that are hosted at infomaniak (Swiss Hosting). Among these sites a Prestashop store version 1.7.2.4

Now, I would like to install a new site with other products (sub-domain) in the same hosting, also with Prestashop but version 1.7.8.0 (new store).

Problem: My database is in MySQL 5.6 and to install prestashop (new version), I need to switch to MariaDB10.

My Question :

Since I have my old prestashop 1.7.2.4 which bugs even when I go from php 7.0 to 7.4 (I have to stay on php7.0 because I'm afraid to blow up the store by updating prestashop to a newest version), do I take a risk by uptdating from MySQL 5.6 to MariaDB10 to be able to install the new prestashop for the new store.

PS: I have to keep the 2 stores (the one with the old version and the new I am planning to build) because my customers want to have one by big supplier.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
