Specific Category listing on template page

Hi - I'm really struggling with this so far - I've Googled for a long time and couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

Can someone please tell me what specific code needs to go into a template file to display a list of products from a specific category?

I've tried including the product-list.tpl but have no idea what the possible variables are or even where to find out. Is this in the Prestashop docs somewhere?

Would really appreciate some help - seems so simple - if you know how!
