Rule for automatic choice of language for emails

Hello,

I have just launched my shop, it is multilingual French - English.

I realize that my English speaking clients receive emails in French and I don't understand why.

On the example below, I see that the same client, with English as his favorite language, received 2 emails in French among the others.

I did a test with my account, I changed my personal language to English, and I modified an order status to trigger an email sending -> I receive the email in French and not in English.

Do you know what is the rule that decides the language of emails?

I looked for the doc on it and I did not find anything ...

Thanks

Hi @ndiaga  👋🏼

Thanks for helping !

I did a test and made an order myself from the english version of the front office, with a postal address outside france.
It sent only english emails... so I think there is no missing template strings, I checked all emails and they are ok.

Then I displayed the front office in french, and the language went from "english" to "french" in the back office for the concerned client account.
I sent more emails from the BO but there were still in english...

As far as your know, what is the data on which prestashop decides which email language it sends ?

Yes I understand that if there is a missing template, prestashop takes the default one.

But :

  • I do have french AND english translations for all emails.
  • Emails have been tested and work for french and english.

What is weird :

  • Some clients receive english and french emails
  • If I set my client account, in english after having received email in french, I continue to get emails in french (and opposite)
