Can't login to Backoffice in PS 1.7.7.1

Hello, I tried to do upgrade from 1.7.6.8 to 1.7.7.1 but kept running into this issue. I tried a fresh install of 1.7.7.1 downloaded today and it also has the same issue. I keep geting stuck at the login screen: https://prnt.sc/wjxs3w . It doesn't make a difference if the pw is correct or not, still same screen comes up even after trying different browsers. I couldn't figure it out even with the debug on, it doesn't give any errors nor could I find anything in the error_log. I opened a bug request but it was closed prematurely. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, can you try to login in Private window of browser
also rename the var/cache folder and try again

Razi, thanks for your response. I just tried it and it still gives me the same screen.

if you enter wrong password its show red alert of wrong password or user ?
and if you enter correct login access then its only redirect on same login page? right ?

I just figured out from this requirements post that I need mySQL v5.7 for v1.7.7 while I have v5.6 installed. I think this may be causing the hanging of the backoffice login. It doesn't matter if the username/pw is correct or not both time it redirects to empty page as shown.

this is a known bug caused by outdated ICU version of your PHP. You need to upgrade.

I will contact the host to upgrade the ICU version which is 4.2.1 right now.
