[1.7] Deleting products from catalog is slow (eshop with 300 000+ products)

Hello dear Prestashopers,

my question is simple and none of tips i found here on forums didnt help.

When I have eshop with 300 000+ product and want to bulk delete 100 products deleting becomes extremly slow. For example it deletes 1 product per 2 minutes.

Is there any way to speed it up?

Hi,

I have the same problem with massive deleting of products.

Our catalog has only 13.000 products.

Deleting of 10.000 products lasts for many hours.

Doesn't the prestashop developers care about that?

Same problem with 1.7.6.8 in 2021 😁

100 products takes 5 minutes. Does any one know how to figure it what process is slowing the process?

This deceleration is caused by different hooks of different modules.
The biggest retarder is the Mail Alert module and also the category or the category_product table.
For example, you have 5000 products and each is in 4 categories.
A query must be sent to the 20,000 Prestashop function, which adds the position of the product in the category.
