Issues re-organizing products inside category

Prestashop vers: 1.7.5.2

PHP: 7.3.16

MySQL: 5.6.40-84.0-log

 

I can't seem to be able to organize the order in which products items show up in a category made up of sub categories.

I have a category A B and C - A is the Father and B and C its children. If i organize products inside A (so that someone looking at the Father cat. A would see this or that product first) prestashop ignores the order and instead resorts in showing me the first product in category B, then the first of cat. C, second of cat. B, second of cat. C and so on and so forth, alternating between the two children categories.

Is this normal behaviour? Is there a way to fix this that i didn't see?

Are you using the faceted search block? It does mess up products by showing those from subcategories, you might want to turn that off
