New theme, old settings?

Good morning, day or evening to you all (depending on when you're reading this)

I've done some work on the classic theme that comes as a default with prestashop. But now I want to try out a new paid theme. So my question is if all the products, categories and overall changes will follow into the new installed theme or if it doesn't work that way?

If it doesn't work then its not the whole world but it would save me the weekend from doing the same thing again.
