problem with header and top menu

hi

i have a problem with the theme , i have edited the classic theme for my shop adding backgrounds and a photos to main header , and to top menu and others but some one told me that the theme is not responsive , i mean with my laptop it appears in a good way ,but if some one opened it on a wider or smaller screen it will not look good , in attachemnts there are two screenshots , how to fix that ? to have a header that not change shape but expand in the same shape it has on my laptop . i would like to have a header and top menu in same shape " thin belt " no matter how small is a screen or wide
