{$product.name} not working in cart or modal. Creating errors in orders

Hi,

We've recently got a weird problem. Its the product name. It does not show up in the cart or the popup modal when you add a product to cart, see images of whats happening. The product name works fine elsewhere, product page, category..

This creates a weird error if a customer makes an order. The order does not get a status or any products shown in the order, but it does get a order value.

What i've discovered is that the variable {$product.name}  does not work. but as you can see the variable {$product.regular_price} and $product.discount_percentage_absolute} works without problems.. 

Please help ASAP
