Extra option per product on cart

Hi,

Starting with the modules voor PS1.7.6.1, I was wondering how and where to start with this 'feature'. I want to try to build it myself so I can learn this process.

At first I want to create an extra option that can be used when checking out: add gift wrapping. Not like the default one, but the customer should be able to use from a list of wrapping options (like:  christmaswrapping, anniversary, for a boy, for a girl, ....) All the options should be able to add a fee to the card (if configured).

It would be nice, if we could choose a wrapping for each product 😉

I think it needs some overriding or is this doable with the use of hooks?
