When I click save I get the error message 'unable to save module position.' Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks,David
Vincent Augagneur
Hi,Problem has already been report. When you use Live Edit you must be connected to the back office. If the domain name of yout back office is differant than your front office, Prestashop considered that you are not connect, causing the error in Ajax requests. If the problem persists thank you to sending me a private message with FTP access to your site so I can debug.Thank you to indicate your problem in the message.Regards

And I'm always connecting to the same domain with BO and FO, and I'm of course connected to BO when using Live Edit, how would I start it otherwise?? From my home computer when I accessing BO with Firefox I get this error, if I use IE there is no error. At work if I access with Firefox and IE there is no problem with Live edit function ... so what could be the problem here, something with cookies or temporary files? ScubaLessonsInc
Vincent, As this is a forum specifically designed to help folks find solutions to problems with this software. It also is not working for me, same exact problem. if there is a solution can you please post it to share it with everyone.. I saw you comments about different name being logged in.. I have https:domain name for example and www.domain name with and without https.. either way I log in it does not fix the problem. I therefore have emailed you my ftp info and my acess to the site and no response yet. I don't mean to be a bother and I know your probably busy so if you can provide the answer on here... I am sure the other 132 viewers of this forum question may also be able to correct issues they have as well as myself please. Thank you kindly for your help! schnappi
Everyone...the solution to this problem has already been posted. You must log into the back office with the "www"This means when you are at the login screen for your site it should read:http://www.yoursite.com/yourshopnameIf you leave out the"www" when logging into your site you will most likely experience problems when attempting to use the live edit feature. You can create logins with minimal privileges within the prestashop admin panel.

ScubaLessonsInc
Guys the best solution is just to upgrade. I fixed my shops pile of issues by just upgrading. It was scary and I had to re-do my css but fortunately I kept a list of the changes and with the new version 1.4.4.1 it is allot easier to see where to edit in firefox with firebug. Ultimately, everything I had done to core files to fix the sites was fixed with the upgrade including this issue.

benjamin utterback
I can see that many people have strongly suggested that upgrading does solve this issue. I am not sure about a fix. I always recommend upgrading any store if you have the chance. It makes everything easier in the long run.

manojkumar
Go to your back office/preferences/seo & urls check your shop name if it start with ( www. you must login to backoffice like www.your shop name/admin----- ) what ever it is. If your shop name starts like only (shop name then shop name/admin-----) For example : example.com/admin1234, Or www.example.com/admin1234 Try it your issue will be solved
