Hi, I'm using prestashop 1.7 with a custom theme buyed on the market, there's a way to show subcategories when i click on some categories? At the moment it show only the products inside the category and not the subcategories like the previous version of prestashop. Can someone help me please? Thanks

Buongiorno, da qualche giorno quando inserisco i nuovi prodotti la miniatura categoria 98x98 non diventa visibile (vedi immagine), ovviamente faccio sempre la stessa procedura. qualcuno può aiutarmi? Grazie

Hello, today I updated my Prestashop store to version 1.6.0.11 with the 1-click-update module. Everything went smooth with the update and the store seemed to be working ok. I updated my modules and started configuring them. Now I notice that all my subcategories are not showing. Neither in front-office, nor in Back-office. I searched in google what the problem might be but nothing helped me. Display subcategories option in theme configuration is set to "Yes". I decided to import my ps_category table, but first I went to phpMyAdmin and checked it. What I notice there is that all categories are in the table. Can you please help me to figure it out what the problem is? I don't know if it is some bug with the update or some option that I need to configure. -
I have downloaded the module "Top horizontal menu with dropdowns" and it's working fine, but on mobiles the subcategories are already opened when i expand the menu... so my question is how can i make the subcategories hidden or be collapsed.

Un saluto a tutti, una mia amica ha un prestashop 1.6.1.5, ha fatto qualche casino con il top menu, vi faccio vedere... Se nel sito www.sosoitaly.com posizionate il mouse su "HOME" vedrete quante sottocategorie appiono nel menu, mentre vorrebbe si vedessero solo le categorie principali. esempio Scrapbooking, Nastri decorativi ecc.. però che restino comunque visibili quando si entra in una categoria principale. C'è un modo per nascondere le sottocategorie solo dal menu? Grazie mille a tutti.

Hi again! It's me again, with another problem. I am trying to have my categories and subcategories in my front page, but I'm not having much success.... I'd like to have the "Categories" as titles and then every subcategory after as a picture with a link to that subcategory. Something like: CATEGORY <subcategory> <subcategory> <subcategory> CATEGORY <subcategory> <subcategory> <subcategory> For the moment I have some kind of mockup with Vekia's HTML Block, you can see it here -> http://tester.photoboothparts.com/ It's just a bunch of pictures with static links to it's subcategories, so it's crude and functional.... But I'd like it to be dynamic. So whenever the guys at marketing / design want to add a category, or change a picture or whatever, this front page updates automatically. I've been trying to use a module I've found around the forums (homecategories) but with it I can get my categories, but I have not been able to add the subcategories to it. I've tried a tutorial (also from Vekia) ( link ) but this is thought to work in the categories page, not at home, and I can't even get it to recognize that subcategories exist. I'm probably doing everything wrong, but honestly don't know how to do this or what to try anymore. -
Category Product Display Order Module Category Product Display Order Module allows the store admin to change the sorting of the products on the home page and category page. By changing the sorting of the category pages the store admin can display different products of that categories to the customers. It also helps the customer experience as customers also like to view new products. The store admin can update the display order of the products on the basis of Price, Product Id, Date Added, Date Updated, Product Name, and Manufacturer. Admin can also preview the sequence of the products from the back-office and modify the sequence based on the position. Hi everyone, I'm stuck with displaying categories the way I want. As you can see on the screenshot they are displayed like this: Categories |_SubCategory |_SubSubCategory |_SubSubCategory |_SubSubCategory |_SubSubCategory I'm getting 4 rows of these which is way too long. How can I adjust it/ where should I tweak to just have Categories and SubCategories shown? By SubCategories I mean the bold ones and underlined. Im thinking of something like this: Categories |_SubCategory |_SubCategory |_SubCategory |_SubCategory I'm using PS 1.7.4.3. Thank you.

Im looking for a way to make the cataloge page in 1.7 view items grouped by subcategories with sub header idea is like that [Subcategory name] Or [subcategory breadcrumbs from current level](if level difference more than 1) ITEM ITEM ITEM ITEM [Subcategory name] Or [subcategory breadcrumbs from current level](if level difference more than 1) ITEM ITEM ITEM ITEM I think code should use the main item categories. if you maybe know module of such feature or have idea for code i will be thankfull for help. I did tried 1.6 resolve but it dosnt work for me:( -
Hello, the thumbnails of the subcategories do not appear in the main menu module provides origina with Prestashop 1.7.4.2 It would miss a line in the file ps_mainmenu.tpl that would allow this display. Could you give me this line or include it in the next update. Best regards Patrick -
Hello, Does anyone know how it is possible to display the thumbnail of the subcategories in the main menu. I added an image for all the subcategories in the Back Office, but they do not appear in the front office. I found some code to add the image of the parent category in the submenu, however I need to display all my subcategories with the image, the title and a short description. Any ideas? Thank you in advance My Prestashop version: 1.7.3.3

Hello everybody, I am trying to setup my Prestashop and at the moment I was able to change the thumbnails size for the subcategories, however, the second row overlaps onto the first row of products or subcategories. I am using BlackHawk 3.2 theme. I uploaded a screenshot showing the problem. My guess is that I have to change the height separation from each row of products or categories in the file product_list.css but I am not sure what do I need to modify. Hello everyone, I hope you're doing great ! I have an urgent task to accomplish by the end of the day ! I have managed using the backend-office to display each main category and it's subcategories when the products of a category are listed just like this picture.. The right side : the main cateogry and it's subcategories . The left side, is where I want to display this module + displaying the category and subctegory images. How can I proceed knowing that I don't use a classic theme and I'm on PS 1.7 ? Thanks in advance.

Hello. I would like to move the default position of displayed subcategories (catalog/listing/category.tpl) from center of the page, to show them just under breadcrumb, so we will have: <nav data-depth="2" class="breadcrumb hidden-sm-down">....</nav> Subcategories there Thanks. -
Good Morning. My problem is this: I need to create a dynamic product list that shows the products of a subcategory within a CMS page (or maybe in category.tpl) . I cannot create the list manually because it is a subcategory that changes products frequently. I was wondering if someone could help me with the necessary php/smarty/js (?) code. Hey guys appreciate the help. Currently my store is showing product when clicking on categories and I want to show subcategories heres a more detailed example: have some categories: Law Music History and these subcategories in history: Indian American European and these sub-sub categories in American 1800 1900 2000 I want to put in the menú a link to History and when i click it it shows me the subcategories of history and so when I click in American for example, show me all the sub-sub categories of that subcategory and then when I click on 2000 it shows me all the products that i have for that sub-sub subcategory. How can i do that? Currently using this theme: http://demo.fieldthemes.com/rococo/home4/en/12-women So basically I want to show Cocktail, Day, Evening & Sundresses when you click on Accessories. & so on in sub levels until I reach products. ACCESSORIES Cocktail Day Evening Sundresses Is there a module for this or would I need custom coding? I havent been able to find it! Thanks for your help! -
I'm using 1.6.1.5. I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to figure out how to list the subcategories on the page when you click on the Main category. All it shows is There are no products in this category. I've attached 2 pictures one is how it is presently. The others is how (generally) I'd like it to look, minus the no products text. I found a post on how to do it in 1.7, but I can't find a category.tpl to experiment on. I found a thread on layered navigation block, but that seems to be for a left column. I would have thought it would be a check box to tick to display (maybe it is and I haven't found it). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jim

Hi, I'm trying to add a piece of code to my homepage to display a list of all the categories and under each category it's subcategories with a number at side with the amount of products in it. Something like this: - Category 1 - - Sub category (42) - - Sub category (13) - Category 3 - - Sub category (17) - - Sub category (33) Although it may be simple for some, I've been searching for 2 ways for a way to do it, but without result. Tried modifying the CategoryController.php override but without success (no result in homepage, but then I realized the Category page was actually crashing).
