Dear Sir, Madam, I recently decided to try out your product. As such, I chose to first install this on my own development environment (localhost). I followed all steps provided by the guide and it installed successfully. However, upon trying to log in right away, it provides me with the error message Authentication Failed. My login credentials are identical to the ones I filled in. I do not run a mail-server locally and prefer not having to set this up here at work. How can this issue be resolved? And if it is related to the account not having been activated, is it possible to somehow directly activate the account via the database? If so, how? I'm looking forward to your advice. Yours sincerely, Alain

Yesterday I updated my shop to prestashop 1.6.1.12, but now I'm unable to log into my backoffice. I write my emailadress correctly and then my password, but the system keeps telling me my email or password is incorrect. I have tried asking for at new password, and the system sent a new password to my email, but it didn't work. I have looked at SETTINGS.INC.PHP and it seems both emailadress and (old) password are in the system. Then I have tried entering the database and change the password following the procedure described by https://www.vipulhadiya.com/change-prestashop-employee-password-from-database/ but I haven't been able to make it work. what do I do next???

Hi, I'm having a big problem with the login behavior of the shop I built with prestashop and either the cache, cookies or ajax. In the front office, after I log in, in the top corner, it says "Welcome, myusername | Logout" to show that I'm logged in, but if I navigate to a page I'd already been to before I logged in, it says "Welcome | Login" as if I'm not logged in! If I refresh the page, then the top corner does update to say "Welcome myusername | Logout" as it should. Also, if I'm logged in and hit "Logout," nothing happens, but then I refresh and now it shows I'm logged out. This is highly confusing to the user, because a lot of them wouldn't think to refresh the page, and they shouldn't have to refresh it. It gives the appearance that you are not logged in, when you are. I thought this was a cache problem, so I disabled caching w/ the File System and I manually deleted all the cache in the cache folders. It didn't help at all. Then I found an error message generated while I'm logged in, but then I navigate to a section with a url starts with http: "XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://www.mysite.com/shop/index.php. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.mysite.com' is therefore not allowed access." This makes me think that maybe it's not the cache, but it's a problem w/ the ajax script not working when you go from https to http? How do I fix it? My top navbar uses the superfish script but so far I can't find how to change the urls to a relative path which would keep the https/http consistent. Does someone know which file controls the urls? Here are my specs: Prestashop 1.5.6 Use cache now Off (used to be File System) Smarty cache on, recompile templates if the files have been updated JS and CSS use CCC, HTML kept as original Friendly URL Off Accented URL No Automatically redirect to the canonical URL Yes Disable apache multiviews No Disable apache mod security No Shop domain www.mysite.com SSL domain www.mysite.com Base URI /shop/ SSL only on pages that need it. My htaccess file has Rewrite Engine On and a lot of DEFLATE lines and leverage browsing settings. Will provide details if needed. I hope someone can help me fix this. Some customers are complaining they're so frustrated with our site and that they keep getting kicked back to the login page. Thank you.

Hi. my client has a dynamic ip and they keep getting logged out of the admin area of prestashop 1.6.0.9. So it redirects them to the home page. How can we stop this happening? Their broadband provider does not allow them to have a static ip. Check the cookie's IP address - is set to NO Lifetime of front-office cookies is set to 480 Lifetime of back-office cookies set to 5 Any ideas would be most helpful. thanks.

Hi I have front office login problem in my Prestashop 1.5.4.1 by IE (with fresh cookie and history). Every time i add a product to the cart and try to pay it by clicking on "Checkout" button, i will face to log out my account automatically! I could solve this matter by connecting my domain to https://www.cloudflare.com but it's not good solution because i need to use my native web host ... - May any one help me please? - Should i open a topic about this matter? - I did test almost all solutions that i found on the internet but nothing worked for me! - I have my webshop from PS 1.3.x till this 1.5.4.1 version and i did upgrade my shop every time. - I had this problem when i upgrade from 1.3.x to 1.4.x and i solved it but sadly i can't remember how i did it! ... Hi, I noticed that beside myself, a few people do have problems doing a [Log In] at the BO after they had installed the PrestaShop 1.5.5. 1. I would like to know whether those who had problems with[Log In] issues with BO are also users of VPS? Maybe this could provide further clues to the problems. 2. Does anyone know what the the few code files (tables) involved in the process of [Log In] at the BO are? I am thinking if I have those information I could read through them and see if it is possible to figure out why during [Log In] of a valid username and password, PS would re-display the Log In screen as though nothing happened (no error on console or screen). I looked through PS_Employee and PS_Configuration. Nothing strange there. Actually I have posted for help in my previous postings but could not get an answer. Instead of trying Firefox, IE, Chrome and iPad (all failed), I can try studying the codes and tables, if they are known. I checked the files and folders - all were set to full rights. Owner/Group were set properly. Some people suggested cookies - however, I have used edit-this-cookie and Ccleaner but that did not help. Waited for a few days for server to be happy - but did not help. My previous post: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/271298-cant-login-as-admin-after-fresh-installing-version-1550/ Regards, Germs

Hello, I installed Prestashop v1.5.3 and everything went okay. At the end of installation, I gave admin login e-mail address and password. After installation, I deleted 'install' folder and renamed 'Admin'. While installing, Now my problem is that I am unable to login to the back office (administration panel. I typed the same login details (e-mail address and password) but am getting error message that 'Employee does not exist or password is incorrect'. Am absolutely sure that I typed correct e-mail address and password. I then tried 'lost password' option and gave gave the same e-mail address. Again am getting an error message that 'This account does not exist'. Anyone else encountered same problem ? Can someone please help ? Thanks and regards, Fred
