Hi, I installed the lastest Prestashop version (1.6.0.9) and had a probelm with missing files. My site right now is a mess. I've tried reparing the damage done but no hope. So my last idea is to install a clean prestashop 1.6 and link it to the old database, but i'm not sure how. And i would like to know how this affects the rest of the site tools like adwords, google indexing, e-mail servers and so on. I would like your opinion to know what to do, and if the clean install is the simplest way. And please help me to link the old database instead of the default database prestashop comes with. And how can i make a fresh prestashop 1.6 install.

I've just reinstalled Prestashop 1.4.2.6 due to a tax rule error that was giving me grief and are wondering whats the best way to upload my existing database? I also have a theme that needs to be loaded as well. See i've read all the how toos but there is something wrong somewhere as i still cant upload the database. I thought i'ed post this as someone might have the answer im looking for. I've posted to tech support but they just dont respond! My questions r. Do i remove existing mySQL database first before i do clean install of Prestashop? Then when i do the Prestashop install, create a new database when it asks me? Do i create a new mySQL database with different settings? different from old database? Or do i firsly create the new database first? before installing Prestashop? Or do i install the existing database first before installing Prestashop? If i do one of these does it mean when i load Prestashop it will automatically have my database on it? Or is is best to install Prestashop with an empty database first then install website theme? I've installed database first, then prestashop, then theme and then uploaded backup in tools. So now when i go to BO/Tools/Dbase, i can see my backup i've loaded but i dont know what to do next? Theres no import tab up on the menu bar? Where do i go from here???? Any help would be much appriciated, i'm starting to go crazy
