You can do it from your cpanel provided by the hosting company.Mostly there will be something called fantastico which is a script to automate installation of various software and i recommend you install phpBB from the fantastico panel for forums. Its really one click install and phpbb is used worldwide by many sites.

there is a easy way to do this. download phpbb or whatever you like and create a folder under your root directory, e.g. http://yourdomain.com/forum. upload your phpbb files onto the folder /fourm/ and intall it just same as how you install perstashop. Once the installation was success, make a link on your prestashop. tthat's all.

  2. Hi everyone,

Just installed perstashop 1.4.3 and lots of strange issues. This is one of them:

I have setup 10% GST for any products, e.g. the product selling price is $10, and the GST is $1.00. When I use a buyer account which address is in Australia, it show the item price is $10 plus postage. However, when I use a buyer account which its address is in any country out of Australia, it shows the item price is $9 plus postage. Why the shop cut off the 10% GST for international buyers? Both Australian buyers and International buyers are in same group (default group) and I did not set up any discount for anyone yet.

It is weird! Could someone help please? Thanks

  3. I think your problem lies in the weight ranges. You have gaps in them even though you may think you have it covered.

In you example they should be:

    0kg - .125kg

    .125kg - .250kg

    .250kg - .375kg

    .375kg - .500kg

    .500kg - 3kg

    Prestashop uses inclusive/exclusive weight ranges.

For example from 0kg up to (and including) .125kg, then from (but excluding) .125kg up to (and including) .250kg. From (but excluding).250kg up to (and including).375 etc.

thank you very much for response. when I use the default zone "Oceania" for Australia, it works but when I change it back to "Australia Zone" and the error appeared again. So I think the problem was caused by the newly created Zone "Australia Zone" not the wight ranges. Do you have any idea? thanks

  4. Good morning all,

Search the issue on forum ("There are no carriers available that deliver to this address."), you can found many posts about this issue but I still can NOT solve the problem. I have another shop which is in 1.3 but it works fine. This issue is just for my newly installed 1.4.3 prestashop.

This is how I setup my shipping carries.

    1. I created a new zone called "Australia Zone", it is for Australia buyer only.

    2. I changed Australia to "Australia Zone" at "Countries" tab.

    3. I created weight ranges

    4. I created a carry called "Australia Post" and its zone is setup to "Australia Zone"

    5. I setup the shipping price for each weight ranges.

It looks all good (I did this in my old shop 1.3.2 and it works fine). However, it doesn't look good in 1.4.3. I still got this error when I try to checkout "There are no carriers available that deliver to this address."

I have attached the screen shots for all my settings, could someone point out what I did wrong?

Thank you so much for your kindly help!

  5. thank you very much dazzaz, sound a good idea and i will try this way. By the way, I have a new issue I've just found it out. When I tested my shop by checkout, I got "There are no carriers available that deliver to this address."

I have post the issue at http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/120918-there-are-no-carriers-available-that-deliver-to-this-address/

Please have a look for more details. thank you so much!

  6. I've just installed 1.4.3 and it looks good. I have setup the shipping fee base on the weight which is good too. Before I login, when i choose any products in my shopping cart, it shows the correct shipping fee base on the weight. However, as as soon as I login for checkout, the shipping fee becomes 0 - the customer get FREE shipping! (good for customers but bad for me) Could someone help please? What I did wrong? or may be a bug of prestashop?

    please see attached screen shots.

    Thank you so much!

  7. Good morning everyone!

I am in Australia and the shipping fee will be much cheap if shipping to Australia than any countries out of Australia. my shop version is 1.4.3.

What I am trying to do is that adding extra cost per item if the buyer from overseas. I tried to use the additional shipping cost to add the extra but it applies to Australia buyers as well. My question is, how can I setup a extra cost per item for oversea buyers only? Is it possible to do so in v1.4.3?

If I could not solve this problem, I have to limited buyers from Australia only and I don't want to do this way. Please help!

    Thanks a lots.

  8. I used to use PHP mail() function in my prestashop and it worked perfectly. However, after something, I found out the emails send from my shop was put into spam folder by most popular web mail. So I decide to use a diffident email account by configure SMTP settings. It doesn't work at all!

I search on forum and found this post: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/65956/configuring___using_prestashop/smtp_problem_gmail. I follow all way of this article: http://www.presto-changeo.com/content/9-fix-email-problems and it still doesn't send emails out. This is very bad if my shop doesn't sent email to customers. Please help me!

    Thank you very much!
