  1. Hello,

I'd like to share my SEO+prestashop experience with you :)

So, if you'd like to get free SEO advice post your prestashop store url, write keywords and country that you are targeting. I'll give you some suggestions how to do better in google SERP.

Free advices will be given for first 5 prestashop sites posted in this post.

Thank you very much for the offer. My shop:

    Site: http://www.lovestation.com.au

    Country: Australia

Key words: lingerie, sexy lingerie (by search those 2 key words in google Australia, my shop is appeared at page 5 - 6 and page 8 - 10)

I am just wondering what should I do to improve my SERP?

    Thanks you advance!

  2. Thank you very much for sharing. I am just wondering if it is possible to do the opposite way? I mean embed a prestashop into wordpress? The reason I am asking for this is that because I have more than 1 domain names, but I don't want to create many prestashops. I am think to create a wordpress site and embed my prestashop into the wordpress site. So, if the users are intereseted my product, they can clcik the product and then go to my prestashop to order.

Is this a good idea? Please give me some feedback. Thank you so much!

  3. Thank you so much for reply. I have been using google web master tool since the shop was created and have been monitoring my shop almost every day. The 162 duplicate urls are just appeared in google web master tool a week ago.

Obviously ever simple product is listed under a category so the right url should be something like: http://www.lovestation.com.au/bady-dolls/90-lingerie-l0005.html

However, I have checked the duplicate url and the url http://www.lovestation.com.au/90-lingerie-l0005.html (the url under root) exists! So I don’t think it is google web master tool’s mistake. It is Prestashop’s fault!

My question is how can I remove all products urls under root? Thank you!

  4. Hi,

I recently went on vacation. I put a note on the header of my site as well as disabled "Add to Cart" buttons from every page.

However when I was checking my email I realised that some people had made some purchases from the site.

    How can this be possible?

I also realised that when you add an item to the cart, and then come back few days later to the site, you still have that item on the cart. Could this have enabled the buyers to buy the item? And if a buyer had bookmarked the page of any item, would he have been able to come back to this page and make the purchase?

In such cases, how can I make sure that this does not happen?

I wish I could do that. My shop is opening every day but hardly gets an order. Could you share your expirence how can your shop make an order even you are in holiday?

  5. My shop http://www.lovestation.com.au (prestashop v1.3.2) is almost 1 year old and it has been fine for most of time. just receiently I found out there are 162 Duplicate meta descriptions and title tags in google webmaster tool: for example:

Looks like all products that are under a categry are also apear under root. e.g. this url is right: /bady-dolls/90-lingerie-l0005.html, but why it is also under the root: /90-lingerie-l0005.html?

Could someone help with this please? Thank you so much!

  6. Change line 69 of modules/homefeatured/homefeatured.php (in PrestaShop v1.3.1) from:<br/><br/>

    <br/>$products = $category->getProducts(intval($params['cookie']->id_lang), 1, ($nb ? $nb : 10));<br/>

    <br/>$products = $category->getProducts(intval($params['cookie']->id_lang), 1, ($nb ? $nb : 10), 'name', 'ASC');<br/>

Hi rocky, is it possible to select featured products randomly? thanks

  7. Here is a non-exhaustive list of what you will be able to do with multistore :

    - Create infinite ammount of shop

    - Create groups of shop with some cool option : share customers / share carts / share stock between shops of the group

    - Create X URL for a given shop, you can link your shop to one / several specific domain, or link it to a virtual URI (but you will need Apache rewrite mod for this last option)

    - Set preferences for all shops, for a specific group of shop, or for one shop

    - Associate most of entities to one or several shops (products, carriers, languages, currencies, suppliers, discount, etc.)

    - Have differents translations for each shop (for example, your product "Ipod Touch" can have a different description between 2 shops)

    - Have specific prices for each shop

    - Filter statistics for specific shops

    - Desactivate modules on some shops, and change hooks position for each shop

    - etc.

Sounds good. But how about SEO? was SEO considered into the muiltishop?

  8. I just tried to reproduce the problem you mentioned.

I did get an error one it reached 100 images.

but just one time error, when tried it again, it created the images without problem.

I guess the first time error is because the folder is not ready yet, after that, it works fine.

Thank you very much for trying that. It is weird and I am having errors for uploading any images after uploading total 99 images. weird!

    Could anyone help please? thanks!

  9. Have everyone has just installed 1.4.3 and have uploaded more than 99 product images yet? Do you have the same issue?

I think the issue was cased by this:

If the image number is 100, the path for the 100.jpg will be your_shop/img/p/1/1/0/100.jpg, however, the path was not created. I have checked my path, after "p" folder, it only has 2 leaves that is /1/1/ that's all.

Could anyone help to fit the bug? I couldn't wait for the bug to be fixed by Prestashop, it will take ages. thank you so much!

  10. Hi all,

It is weird. Just installed perstashop 1.4.3 and started uploading my products into the shop. I have done all most 20 products but suddenly I got an error when try to upload images. The error message is like this:

Warning: imagejpeg() [function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open '/home/hotlinge/public_html/img/p/1/1/3/113.jpg' for writing: No such file or directory in /home/hotlinge/public_html/images.inc.php on line 328

I am uploading the image to the shop, but why it is trying to open the image? of cause it doesn't exist!

All this just happened half hour ago. Before that, all were good.

    Could someone help please?

  11. Dear Friends,

I have checked my google web master tool and I saw lots of duplicated meta description and titles. E.g.

Sure it was caused by "send to a Friend" module. You may say why don't you use rebots.txt to disable access? Yes, I did that, I have "Disallow: /modules/" in my rebots.txt file which was generated by prestashop.

My Question is should I uninstall the 'send to a friend' module as it produces the duplicated title and meta description?
