  1. I don't know what to do with this issue. Please anyone can help me. My webhosting company suspended my site because of this quote: "System administration has identified your account as using higher resources on the server housing your account. This is impacting other users, and we may be forced to suspend or have already suspended your site in order to stabilize the server. We noticed that your site (Prestahsop based site), VARIABLE_1, is being heavily 'crawled' by search engines. Search engines tend to mimic the effect of hundreds of visitors going through every portion of your site, often all at once. You may wish to implement a robots.txt file in order to reduce this effect. This file contains instructions for well behaving 'robots' on how to crawl your site. You can find more information about this here: http://www.robotstxt.org/. The basic format would be as follows to block robots from the following (example) directories: User-agent: * Disallow: /cgi-bin/ Disallow: /images/ Disallow: /tmp/ Disallow: /private/ To use this effectively, you will need to review your site and see what parts might be the most intensive. An alternative to blocking a search engine is to request their robots to not crawl through your site as quickly as they normally would. It is an unofficial extension to the robots.txt standard but one that most popular search engines use. This is an example of how you request robots request pages only every ten seconds: User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 10 This is especially useful for parts of your sites like forums or 'tag clouds' that, while useful to human visitors, are troublesome in terms of how robots aggressively pass through them repeatedly. You can also use your access logs to see how search engines are hitting your site. Let us know if you need help finding your logs in our control panel and we'll be glad to help. If your site is currently suspended, please contact us to lift the suspension in order to implement the above recommendation. As always, feel free to contact us with any further questions." Would these recomendations really help? I have many problems with Prestashop SEO lately.
  2. Finally I found some similar thread. I have this Prestashop based website: http://www.panamahub.net. There is a bug that I can't figure out. Every time I create a product and Friendly URL with it, the site creates 3 different instances of the same product page. For example I create 'product1' with the Friendly URL 'cool-product-1' than the site somehow creates - www.panamahub.net/lang-en/category1/cool-product1.html - www.panamahub.net/category1/cool-product1.html - www.panamahub.net/lang-es/category1/cool-product1.html It gets very messy when I change Friendly URL for another language. It uses for example the English friendly URL on the Spanish page and vice versa. These are 3 different pages of the same product and Google detects it as duplicate content. It affects my SEO badly I always get Duplicate errors in Webmaster tools. I need someone to fix this bug. I tried SEO fix, many forum topic solutions that had similar problems. I also tried URL redirect module. None of them working. I was told that it's maybe the .htaccess problem. I inserted my .htaccess check it out guys. # .htaccess automaticaly generated by PrestaShop e-commerce open-source solution # http://www.prestashop.com - http://www.prestashop.com/forums # URL rewriting module activation RewriteEngine on # URL rewriting rules RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9]+)\-([a-z0-9]+)(\-[_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/([_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.jpg$ /img/p/$1-$2$3.jpg [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)\-([0-9]+)/([_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.jpg$ /img/p/$1-$2.jpg [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)(\-[_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/([_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.jpg$ /img/c/$1$2.jpg [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^lang-([a-z]{2})/([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.html(.*)$ /product.php?id_product=$3&isolang=$1$5 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^lang-([a-z]{2})/([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.html(.*)$ /product.php?id_product=$2&isolang=$1$4 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^lang-([a-z]{2})/([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)(.*)$ /category.php?id_category=$2&isolang=$1 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.html(.*)$ /product.php?id_product=$2$4 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.html(.*)$ /product.php?id_product=$1$3 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)(.*)$ /category.php?id_category=$1 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^content/([0-9]+)\-([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)(.*)$ /cms.php?id_cms=$1 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)__([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)(.*)$ /supplier.php?id_supplier=$1$3 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)_([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)(.*)$ /manufacturer.php?id_manufacturer=$1$3 [QSA,L,E] RewriteRule ^lang-([a-z]{2})/(.*)$ /$2?isolang=$1 [QSA,L,E] # Catch 404 errors ErrorDocument 404 /404.php

  4. But I have prestashop 1.3.2 then it's a new feature in 1.4
  5. Man I just give up this ... Now I hardcoded the noindex, nofollow and I just checked webmaster tools and it starts giving duplicate errors where header has: Google bot totally ignores noindex, no follow. At this point my knowledge is limited. I don't understand
  6. In Admin Back office > Catalog > Create New Product where it says 'Reduction amount:' I'd like to add a new option 'Increase amount' with all the functionalities that 'reduction amount' has but the opposite. Instead of price reduction I want increase. Of course with date settings: 'available from -to'. Any idea how I can make that modification? Where should I start. Which functions should I modify? Since there is a shortage of prestashop documentation I don't know where to get started. I began reversing in AdminProduct.php where actually the form is and I created a "clone" of that form: '.$this->l('Reduction amount:').' '.($currency->format == 1 ? ' '.$currency->sign.' ' : '').'<input size="11" maxlength="14" type="text" name="reduction_price" id="reduction_price" value="'.$this->getFieldValue($obj, 'reduction_price').'" onkeyup="[removed]this.value = this.value.replace(/,/g, \'.\'); var key = window.event ? window.event.keyCode : event.which; if (key != 9) reductionPrice();" /> '.($currency->format == 2 ? ' '.$currency->sign : '').' '.$this->l('OR').' <input size="10" maxlength="14" type="text" name="reduction_percent" id="reduction_percent" value="'.$this->getFieldValue($obj, 'reduction_percent').'" onkeyup="[removed]this.value = this.value.replace(/,/g, \'.\'); var key = window.event ? window.event.keyCode : event.which; if (key != 9) reductionPercent();" /> % I started tracking the reduction_price object and reductionPrice() function but it seems to me that it has connection with many things. Has anyone done this before or something similar? I'd appreciate your help.
  7. Thanks for the tip I hard coded Created nofollowheader.tpl, nofollowheader.php, modified in cart.php line 139 to-- nofollowheader.php modified in order.php line 570 to-- nofollowheader.php modified in supplier.php line 30,49 to-- nofollowheader.php modified in nofollowheader.tpl line 13 to-- noindex, nofollow It seems Prestashop staff don't care about SEO. It is the most important thing though.
  8. Google crawled my cart.php and even with a product in it. It reports it as Duplicate title tags. Cart shouldn't be crawled. I know it is because it follows the link <meta name="robots" content="{if isset($nobots)}no{/if}index,follow" /> all links targeting the cart should be by default in nofollow. Prestashop sucks with SEO. How can I change the code and where so not to follow certain links? Any idea? It would be a big help.
  9. Hello Sherlock I saw your site and it works... can you please explain how do yo fix it? Please it's very urgent also for me. thanks It's canonical URL bug. You have to uninstall Canonical URL module.
  10. Use the facebook like module instead of adding the line in product.php. Delete the facebook line and install Facebook Like v1.1.1 module.
  11. I get this error in red when I press Like button and as you can see I get duplicated URL. They came up with this error at this thread: Facebook like error but I found no solution for this. Help anyone please.
  12. Has anyone resolved this issue? I am having the same problem. I can't use share pages with the social network module either because it gives the same problem.
