  1. I suggest you upgrade 1.2.5 to 1.3.1 as there is some modifications in the database.
If you still prefer having a fresh install you should follow one on the ways :
    - CSV export from 1.2 and CSV import to 1.3
    - make a local migration from 1.2 to 1.3 to have your database modified as needed, then just replace tables related to your products (i think ps_attributes, ps_categories and ps_products) in your fresh install.

How would one go about doing a .csv export?
  2. It is not possible to set free shipping on individual products in PrestaShop. You can only set free shipping for orders over a certain price. It would be quite difficult to add this too, since you'd have to add a column to the ps_product table and a field to the product editor.

Are there instructions somewhere on how to do this? I offer free shipping to the continental US on all my items, outside of that customers get a custom shipping quote. Would I just set up a bogus carrier with 'any price over $0 is free shipping'?
  3. Anyone else out there using this module? If so do you know of a way to tweak the feed to change the condition to 'Used' or 'Vintage' instead of 'New'? I deal in antiques and collectibles, none of which are 'New'. I mean people (I hope) can see the description and see the pictures and know the items are vintage (not new), it just bothers me when I see 'New' and I know that's not the case.

Yay! I'll update this thread if it works, I have to check Google Shopping first, though. My feed just processed after I brought the .xml file up in Microsoft Word, did a find and replace on the word 'new' and changed it to 'used'.

**This might not work for everyone, especially folks who sell new electronics and other products and might use the word 'new' in their item descriptions a lot, but it might work for sellers like me who offer vintage/used items.**

Alright, it worked. Just found some of my items on Google Shopping and they are showing as 'used' instead of 'new'. So if you think it will work for you just do a find and replace on your .xml file that gets created by this module and then save it again before uploading it to Google Merchant Center.

  6. Is there a file I can modify somewhere that will allow me to hardwire certain information so that I don't have to keep typing the same information over and over when I add products? For example, I only have one sales tax rate I need to use. The location is always going to be the same place. The less I have to type the faster I can get my items added from my old Opencart store. Oh gosh and my old eCrater store, I forgot I still have items there too!

    :)

    OK, plus I'm lazy.

  7. There is no Google Base module in PrestaShop. The RSS product feed module (in the Products section) simply allows customers to subscribe to all your products using an RSS feed on your site. The RSS feed block (in the Blocks section) lets you display entries from an external RSS feed (not the one generated by PrestaShop for performance reasons). I can't find any official Google Base module thread, but appears a Google Base module exists, since it has been posted by someone using it here.

EDIT: I found the official page for the module here.

Just to let other folks know, I did get the module mentioned above (see link in the EDIT paragraph/sentence) to work with 1.3.

Well, what do people do to get their products listed in Google Shopping?
  9. I just realised that you had already posted your link in the first post. The first four links are hardcoded, so they won't appear on the CMS tab. To change those titles, you'll need to go to Tools > Translations, select "Module translations" in the dropdown, click the USA flag, then scroll down to the "prestashop - blockvariouslinks" section and enter translations for "Specials", "New products", "Top sellers" and "Contact us".

I want to thank you so very much for your help! I can now concentrate more on adding actual products to the store. This is exactly why I'm moving my store to another platform, the one I'm currently on, well, responses on the forum have started to become quite rude and I just don't do rude.

Thank you again, I really appreciate it.
