  1. I have been using the Presto ChangeO module for about 6 months now, had no issues with it!
  2. Hey all, I noticed today on my front office on one product at the end of the description was a _ mark that was a link. It led to this site: http://toolserver.org/~geohack/geohack.php?pagename=Greenville,_California&params=40_8_24_N_120_57_5_W_type:city(1160)_region:US-CA I may have copy and pasted that in by accident when I was still adding products, as otherwise it seems very odd. I do not recall looking at that particular page. I simply deleted the link in the description from the back office and all is well. No other signs of anything like this anywhere else. Assuming this was not a goof of some sort on my part (which it probably is) how would this happen, and does Geohack just have a scary sounding name but is really a safe thing...they seem to have a lot of links on Wikipedia. Thanks!
  3. Rocky, can that bit of code be added to anywhere in the .htacess file or does it need to reside in a certain place/order?
  4. Does this basically allow you to do an across the board price increase on all products?
  5. Did you have any luck with this? I am not able to get my USPS tracking to show up correctly, always goes to a page USPS says it can't find!
  6. SOLVED (for me anyways) Missing search file, not sure why or how it was deleted!! (Thanks Tomer!)
  7. The actual error I get is the red triangle and "We're sorry, but the Web address you entered is no longer available "
  8. I have tried re-building the index in the back office in the preferences tab but that does not seem to do it. On my test site I get a 404 page not found, is the search link just pointing to the wrong place? Where can I change that?
  9. I am having the same issue, search works in back office but in front office just displays a "page not found" in red. Any ideas?
  10. Do I need a secret handshake? Where do I find this module?
  11. I there a site to see a demo, is it the same one as the Prestastore offers?
  12. Hey all I read the interview here: http://www.prestashop.com/blog/article/the_interview_of_the_month_remi_prestabox_project_manager/ Where in advice to merchants it is said to: If you are a merchant, set up a second authentication on your Back-Office with htaccess / htpasswd, or ask your service provider to integrate it. Is there some more info on integrating this, or step by step with this for PS? Is this just a fail safe against logging in with only your password to access the back office? What are some other ways to help secure access to your back office besides a strong password?
  13. I am also curious about this and would like to know. Can you edit product price or just shipping price and add products?
  14. Yeah that part is for sure, true, a block appears and you can click on it to pop open the box, but for me it rarely works, the thickbox open but the default text is not there...it seems to work on some pages but not the main one. its weird.
  15. This is my experience too badger, however when using the pp api I get a page that has the full credit card fill in details exposed on one side and log into PP account on the other side of the page. I am using the api and have had a few orders already and seems to work ok, but I do not get the experience Rocky mentioned.
  16. Anybody? Is this a bug in Prestashop, or can you just ignore it?
  17. It seems to work for me as well in 1.3.1 but I have just two products that have an error and do not upload...strange
  18. Did you delete the install file and rename the back office file?
  19. Same here! First order and everything went ok but I have this code message from PayPal. Is this sent to the customer, or just shows up in the back office under customer messages? Can it be eliminated somehow with a setting in PayPal? Thanks!
  20. You can probably get hosting through the same company as your domain or find another. I am not all that good at a lot of this stuff so I had Presto Changeo help me with some things and it is money well spent. Likewise you can get some paid help from others on here like Rocky (Nethercott Constructions) and other developers on here who offer their services. If you figure that PrestaShop is free, spending a little money to make sure it is setup correctly or on third party modules to make it work right for your application is not a big deal. If you really want to run a good e-commerce site and make some money from it spending some money on it should be no big deal. If you had to go and pay someone to build you a complete website I am sure you would probably spend at a minimum $500 USD, probably way more. Getting PrestaShop for free and spending some money on modules or setup/design help from the developers here is WAY cheaper than most other solutions out there in my opinion. If you take the time to read and research you could probably do it all by yourself, I did a lot of mine by myself and anytime I had a question I would just use the search or Google and 9 out 10 times you find the answer right here on the forums, usually with Rocky, Tomer or one of the other developers giving the answer! There is also a book out now on Amazon that is all about Prestashop. Hope this helps!
  21. Being a Power Seller on eBay for 6+ years I have heard of these stories but I have probably put 500,000 US over the years through PayPal and never had an issue, but I also maybe only had one chargeback in all those years and that was a misunderstanding. If you have a lot of chargebacks or they suspect fraud then your acct may be limited....I am not defending PayPal as they are punks but I'm just sayin'. Like others have said, as soon as money comes in take it out. Have two accounts at your bank. I have one that PP money goes to, then I immediately transfer it online to another checking account, that way if PP ever tries to pull anything there is nothing there for them to take, if they try and debit you can tell your bank I think that it was an unauthorized transaction by PayPal.
  22. Very cool Gabriel! I have a G1 and am interested in this!! The company I distribute for in the US does not use bar codes as of now, what would be the easiest way to apply bar codes (assuming can get them applied at factory before shipping to me). I do not use attributes, just single parts so I think this would work great!! Very cool app!
  23. Did you add your language already in the back office? Is that is what is required? When I go to the files the only language options are the ones I added the files for in the back office. Not to hijack, but Rocky or mrBaseball, does Prestashop have code that enters info like a link to the tracking number, shop name etc. For example where it says in transit.txt >> you can track your package by clicking on the following link: {followup} You can also review this order and download your invoice from the "Order history" section of your account by clicking "My account" on our Website. Thank you for shopping with {shop_name}! {shop_name} - {shop_url} << Everything in parenthesis gets added automatically by Prestashop? Do you only need to edit these files to suit a personal feel of the notification?
  24. Cool! Thanks...now to figure out the PayPal API!
